Most cameras work with any windows version. there are also special microscope-camera-programs you can download for your camera. I would not worry about the software.

The white list black list gives me the impression that this is something on your network that is not allowing it to work. My school has a white list black list system for websites. Have you tried installing the qx5 on an freestanding computer to see if that works ok?

SOURCE: I have a digital microscope

If the digital microscope was designed to work with the earlier operational systems then you will need to replace the item. The only option is to check the manufacture web site in the hopes they may have updated the driver for windows 7 for your device.

QX3 microscope

Here are the instruction for installing the QX3 (or QX3+) Microscope with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. You must be using a 32-BIT VERSION of Windows 8 or 8.1.
Note: The QX3 is not compatible with 64-bit versions of XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8.

Note, DO NOT use the software from the CD that came with the microscope.
DO NOT plug in the QX3 microscope until Step 4.

Step 1. Download and run the QX3plus.exe program from:
http://tinyurl.com/QX3-Win8-1
After the program installs, uncheck "I would like to view the README file." Click "Finish".

Step 2. Download and run the qcodinstl.exe program from:
http://tinyurl.com/QX3-Win8-1
If asked about NTVDM, click "Install this feature" then click "Close"

Step 3. Download IntelQX3driverXP.zip and save (do not open) the file from:
http://tinyurl.com/QX3-Win8-1

Step 4. Now, plug in the microscope. The driver should load silently.
If the "Found New Hardware" wizard appears and you get a message saying that the driver installation was not successful. Click the Close box. You need to install the driver manually by following these steps:
a. Right-click START - Select "Device Manager"
b. Right-click on the Intel QX3 Icon and select "Update Driver Software", select "Browse my computer for driver software"
e. Browse to the Download folder with the extracted QX3 drivers from Step 3. above. The driver software should install successfully.

IMPORTANT: Before you run the QX3Plus program for the first time, right click the "Intel Play QX3 Microscope" icon on the desktop, click "Properties", click the "Compatibility" tab, check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", then choose "Windows 98 / Windows ME" in the drop-down box. You should also check "Run as Administrator" if your account is a "Standard user". Click "Apply" then "Ok".
Step 5. Finally, double-click the "Intel Play QX3 Microscope" icon on the desktop and the program should run.
If you get a message that the microscope is not plugged in, quit and restart the program.
If the program hangs or crashes, reboot the computer, then restart the program.

Model number and serial number should help you here, either goto the website of the manufactor and see if the software is available there, other than that plug the usb into your computer and ask windows update (win7) to find the software to install the drivers ect for the camera. once you have the drivers installed then most video software should pick up your camera for use with the computer, optionally if they is an SD card or storage then simply place the SD into your computer and use my computer to view the files, and ask media player to play them, if you dont have an SD card reader built into your computer you can buy a cheap one either on ebay or even in most pound shops. back to the drivers, if windows cannot find the drivers then type your model number into google and search. best regards.

INtel Play QX3 microscope 64 bits driver

http://download.cnet.com/Intel-Play-QX3-Microscope/3000-2110_4-104288.html worked for me Win 7 64 bit. You may need to run in compatibility mode. Search for that if that turns out to be the problem.

I have a microscope from National (DC3-163). How can I hook this microscope up to my MAcBook Pro. I only have Motic software that's compatible with Windows. Kris

I did a bit of research, and it looks like the only way that you can use the "Mac OSX compatible" microscope, is using it the same way one would plug in a webcam via USB. Essentially, you can plug in the Microscope, open up the Image Capture Utility, PhotoBooth, or Quicktime/iMovie (I'd recommend one of these two), make sure you have the Capture Device set to the microscope and you'll be able to "project" the image that you are seeing through the microscope onto the computer.
The Motic software does not have a counterpart for the Apple OS, and can only be used if you have a Windows BootCamp Partition, or if you have a Parallels installation of Windows that can use the Motic Software. There are other pieces of software out there that can utilize microscopes, but may not have all the same features as the Motic Bundled software. One that I found that may be of some use is called miXscope. It can be found here: http://www.edhsw.com/mixscope/ , and it is relatively inexpensive in terms of licensing.
This may also be of some help for selecting compatible microscopes in the future: http://www.apple.com/science/solutions/microscopy.html
Hope that helps!

I am running windows 6 and vista. what do I need to download to have my National DC2-456 digiaal mcroscope up and running?.

The software and camera and supported by motic. Depending on the age of your camera, there may not be a driver compatible with window 7, but it should work on XP or Vista. You can try downloading it from motics site at: http://www.motic.com/Download.aspx?r=NA&lang=en. The National model should have come with motic images Plus.

Probleme of compatibility

What compatability is listed on the box? If it doesn't have Vista listed, you'll probably have to swap it.
