SOURCE: Husqvarna Viking 6440 buttonholer, reverse frozen

Hi,
A seller on e-bay who redoes Viking machines says the the grease they put in them (the older vikings) becomes too stiff and the knobs stop turning. He cleans them out and then he adds some kind of teflon lubricant. Probably can find him on e-bay still. He is informative.

Did you turn the handwheel? The feed teeth will not come up until the machine is operated. Run it a few stitches and they will come up.

The little white button on the lower right front of the machine is the button that drops the feed teeth. If it is pressed in the feed teeth are down, push in a lift upward to be sure it's in the "Up" position. Then look on the left side of the machine, you'll see a dial, (NOT the dial facing you as you sit in front of the machine) make sure the red dot on the dial is lined up with the red dot on the painted part of the machine.
Finally look at the dial on the front of the machine. The one with the little button in the center of it. Put it on the number 3. If your machine doesn't feed fabric after doing what I've outlined then you need to take it in for service.

Error message "overloaded" will not sew. What does this mean?

Page 15 of the Manual says that it means "remove fabric and begin sewing again". If that doesn't resolve it, threads and/or fabric may be wrapped around something in the works. Open front and look carefully at all areas, especially all LOOPER thread paths. Many times AREA 9-10 (where thread lays in groove before being threaded thru the eye) can have thread stuck. Otherwise, may need to take it to your dealer for servicing. Good luck.

Why doesn't the cutting tool work automatically on the 4 thread overlock

You knives may be dull and need replacing or they may not be able to completely lower to complete the cut. Suggest removing thread and try feeding a piece of paper through the machine area. Watch the knives to determine if the top one comes all the way down to make a good cut. If it does not, there may be lint build up in the gears below. You can check it by opening the door to reveal the thread area below. Using hand wheel manually feed the piece of paper through and watch cutting gears. There is an opening above and below the screw that holds the gear in place. Take a needle or other sharp pointed tool and make sure that there is no lint in the area above the screw and below the screw. Many times, lint gets packed in that area and causes the gear not to lower completely.

Hope this makes sense. Otherwise, take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for cleaning and service.

I have a husqvarna design 2 but the machine sewing is going backwards any ideas on how to reset and make it go forwards ?

The feed mechanism stepper motor probably needs replacing. The cost of the part is usually around $150. It will have to be done by an authorized Viking Dealer You can find your local dealer at the Husqvarna Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us

Have Viking 990 and feed dogs not working. Local repair man kept for over a month and then said it was the circuit board and that Viking no longer making circuit board for 990-- or, that machine can't be...

Is it that the feed dogs won't go up and down, or that you can't adjust the stitch length? If the feed dogs won't go up and down after you have released the feed dog button and cycled the handwheel one revolution, than there is a mechanical adjustment needed. I the stitch length can't be ajdusted, that It's either a circuit board of a step motor problem. The repair shop should be able to tell you that they swaped the feed motor with the zig zag motor to test this issue.

Huskylock 936 error code

This will also occur if the "needles" and "loopers" lock up as though threads are tangled and binding the machine. If needles and loopers move freely when manually turning the handwheel counter clockwise, you probably need to take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.

Parts for serger machine.

Hello, you need to find your nearest Husqvarna Viking dealer for that part. It's call the motor pulley. The reference number on the machine parts break down is #215008-844 you should also change the little washer at the end of the pulley, #215008-845. Inspect the belt, if the teeth are "rough" in any way, you may want to pick up a belt too.#215008-843

Sounds like the feeding mechanism is having problems. The feed stepper motor is probably getting reset telling the feed dogs to move up and down rather than backward and forward. Suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.
