SOURCE: Problem with the printer drum?

Sounds like the toner isn't sticking to the paper.

Open the top cover of the printer. You will see two yellow felt stickers with a black triangle on them. On either side of those stickers you will see two gray or green tabs. If the tabs are sitting up pull them down towards you so you can see the picture of the envelope on top. Close the cover and try to print.

Open the front door where you put the toner/drum unit in the machine. Press options then press 1.
Close the door.

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-MB781 drum reset

I already answered this at some other place her - but here I go again: There is a little special (white) gear on the outer left side of the drumkit - a little bit below where the toner sits. That gear joins with toner mixing assy - and you can rotate it in counterclockwise all the way back. This should reset the drum counter - worked for me - I hope it also does the trick for you ;-)

SOURCE: reset drum

I think this machine does not have a reset option instead you can reset manually. All you have to do is on the right side of drum unit there exist a white + type notch, rotate it clockwise till it allows.Put back drum unit into machine.Switch on and see replace drum and supplies message will disappear. In my case it worked.Hope this is the best solution. All the best

Have a Panasonic KX FL 511 it it printing very light can even read the text. Replaced the Drum and Cartridge still prints the same?

I made this suggestion to a person who's printer wouldn't recognize his new cartridges: Reconnect the printer to the computer as if it was for the first time. Complete every step as it is written.

Printers are indeed very finicky devices and sometimes they are just not any good any more. New printers are as cheap as the two new cartridges, which makes it just as cheap to upgrade to a newer printer. Good luck!

Error Message Drum Life Over, Replace Drum

The "drum" referred to is the imaging drum which is replaced separately from the toner cartridge. The drum life is rated for a certain number of copies, and the printer is telling you it's time. Replacement drums are available at big-box office places and from many online sources. Just do a Google search for "kx-fl511 drum". The new drum just slides in much like the toner cartridge, so replacing it isn't difficult.

Print is obliterated with 4 broad hoziontal strips on paper

The green roller is the OPC drum, and as with many panasonic laser printers the cleaning mechanism doesn't work properly. The only way to solve this is to replace the unit.
