SOURCE: Coleman furnace blower runs continuously

You should be seeing 120 volts to the igniter. Anything less requires either a replacement of the transformer, start relay or control module.

Rmove the two screws holding the blower in place and slide it out. With the power off, rotate the wheel and inspect for debris or an impingement. If everything turns easy, you have a bad motor or start capacitor. If you have rubbing, adjust the wheel. If the motor will not turn, replace it.

does the furnace ignite?? your system may not have been lighting and has gone into ignition lockout count the codes of the led lights then remove panel led diagnostic codes are listed there.
if led codes indicate no problem verify capacitor is good and that mtr is getting 115 volts.

Again is this a spark or a glow coil? If it is a glow coil look at the coil and see if there is a crack or white spot on it. If so it needs to be replaced.

My Rheem Criterion II gas furnace makes metal slapping noise when the blower comes on. It is not the blower or the motor.

Is there noise when the inducer motor comes on? The small motor that comes on first. It sucks the co out of the combustion chamber. It comes on first. Then the burner lights then the blower comes on. And the noise continues while it's running and doesn't stop till the blower stops? Is that correct? But it's not the blower wheel? Could it be out of balance and hitting the blower shroud?

My Furnace is making a clicking noise only when on heat, and during the initial start up after that it is silent and runs good

Sounds to me like it is a spark ignition which clicks to light the gas and then drops out. This would be normal. If it is hot surface ignition, then the only thing I can think of that would make a noise on a call for heating would be the inducer motor (burner motor) making a noise on a cold start, then heats up from the combustion flue gas. Have someone pull the inducer, & move the squirrel cage position on the motors shaft slightly & see if that makes a difference.

My rheem 90 plus, has a humming noise any time the power switch is turned on even with thermosat unplugged. i shut the switch off and it stops. do i have a short some where?

Hello, typically a humming noise comes from the transformer located in the blower section of the Furnace. Sometimes it is caused by the transformer being loose, and others it can be a sign of the transformer going bad. i would make sure that it is secure first and see if that helps.

20 year old Rheem 90 plus 120k btu furnace blower runs contantly. Furnace and AC work fine (start and stop according to thermostat setting). What is problem? How fix?

Check to see if your unit has a heat sequencer. This is usually the problem with most furnaces. If it is bad, it will make the fan blower run all of the time. If you are not a electrican, you may want to get a electricin to look at it.

I have a goodman mfg gmp100-4 furnace. When I turn theromsat to heat I hear blowing for sixty seconds but that is all that happens. What should I check first?

Your furnace has a combustion blower on it. If it runs and don't pull in the vacuum switch the furnace will not start. On the combustion blower you will find a little rubber hose follow that hose to the vacuum switch. You will see 2 wires on the vacuum switch connect the 2 wires on the vacuum switch together. If your furnace starts and runs fine for 15 to 20 minutes you need a new vacuum switch. Try this first

in this image A is vacuum switch B is combustion blower

Hope this helps......

I have a new home 1 yr and when the furnace kicks in, I am assuming the fan it makes a noise but as soon as the heat starts the noise is gone, could this be the furnace blower

Check by turning the unit off and turn the fan to on. Do you hear the noise now? The noise your hearing could be coming from your combustion fan assembly instead. Newer furnaces have a in-shot burner and are nosier than the old style of heater.

Combustion blower turns on and never stops running

Sounds to me like the furnace isn't getting enough fresh air for combustion and the pressure switch isn't closing. try taking the cover off the burner assembly and c if that works

George, make sure the belt is not loose flapping around making all that noise.

Not hard to change if you can get one from an hvac friend, they won"t sell to homeowners normally.
