Boy that is one sad excuse for a heating guy. how foes this thing flame on? if it doesn't have an electronic spark start mechanism then it operates with a pilot light that will always be going as it uses this small flame (pilot light) to ignite the gas when the thermostat turns it on.

Testimonial: "I know what a pilot light loks like. this is not the pilot light. The grill where the flames come up when you turn it on does not completely shut off when I turn the fire off. A row of small blue flames reamin. My heating guy is excellent, years of experience and very reliable."

If he is reliable then he should not refer you to an online answer site. Your valve is compromised, either some debris is stuck in it or the seal is bad, if you have the valve replaced your problem should be over.

I bought an Insta Flame model FSDV 30 direct vent wall furnace, need a natural gas conversion kit. It currently is set up for propane and could use some help in finding the parts and installing them.

There is a ban on that particular furnace as they can explode!

You won't find parts or anyone that will work on it.

Insta Flame dvr33. Why won't the pilot stay lit?

The pilot flame may have to be adjusted. It is possible but not probable that the gas supply pressure is exceptionally low.

Why does flame roll out of the burner chamber when gas to the burners is stopped?

the fire is held clear of the jet by the fact that the gas is coming out too fast for the flame to burn back to the jet
when you turn the gas off then the flame burns back all of the residual gas
Best have it checked out by an accredited gas mechanic.

The pilot light will not stay on for more than 5min. If I light the fire when its on,it just goes out. The fire is a Fusion 2/7

I assume this is a gas log? If so, you have dust in your pilot assembly. Turn everything off and let it cool. Note the opening where the pilot flames burns. Use the wand from your vacuum cleaner and place it over the opening for the pilot flame. Gently tap the side of the pilot assembly while holdign the vacuum above the opening. This will lift the minute dust particles out and allow the flame to burn nice and blue again. These logs have Oxygen Depletion Valves on them. The pilots are very sensitive to dust.

I have a HE20 Insta Flame propane fireplace. I can light the pilot light but I can't get the burners to turn on. It has a wall switch that is suppose to turn the burners on. Any suggestuions?

Try installing a new light switch. The fireplace is using a millivolt system and even a tiny amount of voltage drop across the switch can be enough to no longer bring on the burners. You can test that it is the switch by removing the wires from it and touching them together... if the burners fire, replace the switch, if they don't, call your serviceman.

Flame does not seem hot enough - too much yellow flame.

In a gas dryer, heat is provided by a gas heater that is controlled by an air shutter. The gas heater is generally the source of no-heat or drying problems. You can often correct such problems by adjusting the air shutter on the gas burner, which is located along the bottom of the dryer.

To adjust the shutter, take out the screws and remove the panel that covers the gas flame. Turn on the dryer so the flame is burning. If the flame has a deep blue color and you hear air whistling around the burner, the air/gas mixture is receiving too much air. If the flame has a yellow tip, the mixture is not receiving enough air. Turn the thumbscrew or loosen the two screws slightly to increase or decrease the flow of air to the burner. Keep turning until the flame is a light blue color, without any yellow, and the whistling stops.

Pilot goes out

If the pilot won't stay lit, the thermocouple may be loose or faulty, the pilot orifice may be clogged, or the pilot light's flame may be set too low and needs to be adjusted. You can clear a clogged orifice with a piece of thin wire, such as a bread tie with the paper stripped off of it. Be sure to turn off the gas to the furnace first! Also shut off the switch or circuit breaker that controls power to the furnace. Just poke the thin wire into the tiny orifice where the pilot flame normally burns to knock off any ash or debris. Some pilots have a flame adjustment screw for adjusting the flame. To adjust this, refer to your owner's manual. Normally, this is simply a matter of turning the flame adjustment screw to achieve a full, steady 1 1/2-inch to 2-inch flame that doesn't have any yellow in it.
