Hi there. Last night I switched on my Asus A3Ac laptop. Its turned on, and after few minutes it went into hybernate, I pressed all the keys but there is no response. So I forcefully shutdown the laptop. And when I switched it on again. It doesn't start. Only power and charging indicators are showing lights. But there are no fan sounds. I tried everything from my side from your answers. But still it cannot solved the problem. Could you please help me out of this problem. Thanking you kindly.

Try removing the battery and connecting your charger. Press power button for some seconds. Disconnect the charger, reinsert the battery and switch back on. Should work now. Else your power supply is faulty.

The most likely problem is that your Hard Drive has Died.

If you can readily access another Laptop HDD, try it and see.

Other than that, I'd say the Motherboard has decieded to give up the Ghost.

Just Remember, A Laptops life expectancy is 3 years, after that you are treading on thin ice keeping Important Documents on it.

SOURCE: I have HP pavilion DV6500 laptop. Last night,

Please do not panic....The first thing what we need to do is perform a hard reset...What does Hard Reset mean... Unplug the A/C Adapter Pin from the notebook...Turn the notebook upside down and then remove the battery from the notebook...Turn the notebook in the upright position and then press the power button for 30 seconds without the battery and without the A/C Adapter Pin connected to the notebook... After 30 seconds place the battery in the battery outlet and connect the A/C Adapter pin and restart the notebook...Check if you can see anything on the screen....If you can't see anything on the screen then please perform a forced shutdown by pressing the power button down until all the lights have turned off...Then as soon as you restart the notebook press the F10 key continously on the keyboard...It will take you to the BIOS Screen... Check if you see the screen...If the screen is still blank then don't perform the next step....Click N for No...Then press the F9 key and then select Y as in Yes...again press the F10 Key then press Y and it will boot to the desktop.... still you have the same problem then perform a recovery....If the screen is blank in the BIOS Menu then try connecting an External Monitor...If you cannot see anything on the screen it is a problem with your video card or monitor you will have to contact HP since your fan does not work...If you have any other queries please don't hesitate to contact me and i will help you with the same.....

My asus x59gl screen won't switch on, I can hear

Try holding in the function key (very bottom left key labeled Fn) and pressing F7. If that doesn't turn the screen back on, hold it again and slowly press F8 a few times. That should turn the screen back on if it was accidentally set to a different monitor, which seems to happen randomly on laptops.
If you can see a very faint image when its held at just the right angle, then you probably burned out the back-light.
Keep in mind, if you bought it in the last year, it is still under manufacturer warranty.

Prospector60,

Hello and Thank You for visiting fixya.com

You might be experiencing a hardware issue but first have you tried the following steps?

1. Take out the battery
2. Unplug the unit from the power

Then plug back in the unit and try the switch again?

Have you check your bios to make sure the options for the adapter and switch are enabled.

Its rare but it could be a hardware issue with the switch. You might get creative and open up the laptop and unplug the wireless card from its slot then plug it back in. But be careful and do that at your own risk. If its under warranty have Asus look at it!

Thanks for using fixya.com I hope you find these Very Helpful!

Hi, I have an Asus PRO50G laptop. Last night I shut it down before going to bed and assumed that it had shut down successfully, but when I awoke I found that the laptop had run itself out of battery while...

Since the battery totally ran out, hence, now you require to charge it back up kindly do not try to switch on your laptop any more unless you have left it on charger for a minimum of 8 hrs. In case even after charging for 8 hrs it is doing the same thing i.e. logging off then, press f8 key while booting up and from the selection select last good known configuration and hit enter. That will fix everything. In few cases it's also f10 button hence try both f8 and f10.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM MEMORY CAPACITY THAT MY ASUS A3AC CAN HAVE? WHAT TYPE OF MEMORY WILL GO INTO THE ASUS A3AC? What maximum hard disk size can the ASUS A3Ac running Windows XP can have?

max memory is 2GB ddr2 533 also known as pc4200.
If you dont have sp1 or later, 137gb is the maximum HD your system will see. If you have service packs installed then you can have as big a HD as you want. You may need to use a disc partitioning program to get the full use out of large HD's

When waking from hybernation - woulnd't boot for 2 minutes

Hello ccc9294,

The system may be trying to restore the browser last settings (including tabs) when resuming from hybernation. Try closing the browser before going into hybernation. Then check to see how long the system takes to resume from hybernation.
If the system still takes too long then look at task manager (Control+Alt+Delete keys). Check the processes to see which ones may be taking up too much cpu or memory resources. It may be a system security application like McAfee or Symantec working in the backgound while coming out of hybernation.

I thank you for giving a rating to this solution if it has been helpful.

Have a great day,
