please check this manual and the model number of your unit again the kenwood site is not listing a JE500 and if this manual is not the one you are searching for message me back and I will contact Kenwood directly in order to obtain the correct instructions that you are looking for. Also if you have any other questions as well please message those back to me as well.

error code E1 refers to "lack of water inlet pressure" the valve the elctrically lets in the water might be at fault
