You replace it from the Inside. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful not to touch the Capacitor or you will get the shock of your life. The Side Panel does come off on its own, Make sure you unplug it when working on a live circuit.

I have a Panasonic microwave that I bought about 4 months ago and when I started it, it ran for about 45 seconds and just quit. tried plugging it into another outlet but still nothing, so was wondering if...

Every microwave I have see has a fuse in the main power input line. When it opens the MW is 100% dead. I've never heard of a reset button in a MW. Depending whether it is an over the cook top or counter type, you usually find the fuse in a front-removable panel or you have to remove the metal case. The fuse is easy to spot and is usually a ceramic tube with metal end caps in a open fuse holder.

How to change a light bulb on an oster microwave

As far as I know, the following procedure applies to all countertop microwave ovens. Unplug the oven. Remove the screws holding the top/side cover (there are some on a flange around the back, and usually others either on the sides or on a flange wrapped around the bottom on each side).

Pull the cover back about 1/8" to unhook the front, then lift it off. You should see the lamp socket or a sheet metal box covering the lamp socket on top of the oven cavity (a few models have the lamp on one side or the back, but these are rare). If the lamp is enclosed in a box, remove the screws holding the box and lift or slide it off. (If you are unsure whether you are looking at the right object, open the door and look inside the cavity to make sure it matches the place where the light comes in.)

While you have the cover off, check the fan on the right side to make sure it is reasonably clean and the bearings are running smoothly. If the cooling fins on the magnetron are dirty, wipe those off also. Do not touch the circuitry on the controller board with your fingers or a with metal tool held in your fingers. Static electricity from your body could damage the electronics, even if you can't feel a spark.

Troubleshooting your Panasonic microwave oven requires removal of the cover. There may be a loose or broken connection inside. Be sure to read and heed the dangerous voltage warning. As for the repair or replace issue, that depends on age (in appliance years) and whether parts cost and labor are reasonable.

Sharp r520kst door wont stay shut

If the door will not stay closed it is the spring inside door, or the small plastic piece that holds the spring which is attached to the $80.00 piece called outer door.
To fix it, it is EASY and you do not have to even take the inside cover all the way off. Just remove the three sides of cover by gently slipping a plastic putty knife around rim to release the clips. Then attach the spring to the small hole below where the plastic piece used to be, which is located in the metal on the glass frame piece, use tweezers, hold the other end of spring as you place spring onto plastic door latch and set into place!
Snap the inside cover back on and YAY! FINI!

The plastic cover on the window of the door is peeling. iIs there any danger in this? Other than that the microwave is working perfectly. Does this cover or the microwave have to be replaced?

The plastic cover on the door stops food particles and steam entering the inside part that is not easily cleaned.
That's all.
It is like thick selotape.

My daughter was trying to set the timer and hit the stop button instead of start (several times) and the mircowave totally died, we can not restart.

The unit needs a part replaced that has become defective. If you contact the manufacturer they can give you an idea whether it will be worth trying to fix the one you have or whether it will be better to buy a new one.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams here.

Thewaveguide cover (also called a spatter shield) is usually about thesize of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

In some models it is a larger stirrer cover type made of thicker plastic in the ceiling of the oven.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced. It provides important protection for the magnetron.

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck to the inside of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.
