Check the blower motor for seized of burnt out. Fuses blow because of excess current draw and in this case if the fan is not starting everything will stop. The gas will be set so that if the fan is not running the gas will not be allowed to turn on

Payne 383KAV heater. Gas valve won't open to fire heater.

Being as how you changed the gas valve, make sure the arrow on the bottom of the gas valve is pointed towards the burner. Check for 24 volts at the common and main valve terminals on the gas valve when the thermostat is calling for heat...terminals MV and C. You will only have 24v there if the flame sensor senses flame... either pilot flame or main gas. You coud have 24v there without gas flowing or flame if is is a thermocouple standing pilot system and the gas valve is not in the 'on' position. But standing pilot systems usually do not have flame sensors.

With a flame sensor in the system, you have to have either spark ignition or glow coil ignition. If its spark ignition check for 24 volts at the pilot valve and common terminals on the gas valve WHILE the ignitor is sparking. That would be PV and C. The ignitor should spark and 24v should be on PV and C for 30 seconds to a full minute without ignition if it is a spark-to-pilot system.

If you have a glow coil, it will energize and burn bright orange for a minimum of 30 seconds BEFORE the main valve is energized. Then MV and C is only receiving 24v for approximately 5 to 6 seconds. This gives the flame sensor the time to prove the flame....if it does not prove flame, the system shuts down.

My Kenmore 60 Gas Furnace Is Pilot Light Is Shutting Off And When It Comes Back On Its Popping And Blowing Out Flames...Need Help

pilot light will shutoff for few diff reason. 1) thermocouple is too weak. needs to be 20-30 dc millivolts to keep pilot on.
2) negative downdraft is blowing pilot out. 3) continuity in gas valve is fluctuation, causing the valve to close and therefor shutoff the pilot

I cannot get the pilot light to stay lit. I disconnected the burner orifice and to see if the gas was getting through as it seems as if it is.

Several things can cause the problem you're having.

1. Low gas pressure due to a near empty tank or the heaters regulator is locked up and only
allows a small amount of gas to get the pilot. To solve this, turn the gas tank valve OFF & dis-
connect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes & reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the gas
valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the pilot
and hold the gas control valve in for 30 seconds to 60 seconds. After that time, release the control
valve knob. Did the pilot stay lit? If so, problem solved. If it didn't you will need to replace the
heater's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can use the same one that's for a gas grill. And find it at
any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories for about $30.00.

2. The pilot is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Use a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) to blow out the pilot tip.

3. The thermocouple has failed and needs to be replaced. If this is the case, you can order a new thermocouple for Blue Rhino (1.800.762.1142) , the manufacturer of your Patio Heater.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Kozy world propane wall heater pilot will not light

This can be caused by several things:

1. The inline gas valve running to the the heater is OFF. Turn the valve ON.

2. The gas control knob on the heater is not exactly in the PILOT position. Unless the knob bottoms
out and you feel strong pressure (other than spring pressure) pushing back at you. It's not exactly
in the PILOT Position. Once the pilot lights, hold the control knob in for 30 seconds to 60 seconds
to allow the Thermocouple to full heat.

3. The pilot is dirty and needs to be cleaned, as do the burners.*

4. The LP Gas Tank is empty or to low to maintain te proper gas pressure.

* Here is a link to a demonstration on how to properly clean the pilot & burners.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I OWN A WOLF CHR 6-29 GAS STOVE AND WANT TO SHUT THE GAS OFF TO THE OVEN PILOT LIGHT. i AM NOT SURE WHERE THE PILOT VALVE SHUT OFF IS OR WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

You should be able to blow out the pilot, after 30 seconds or so the fuel flow should be stopped by the oven safety (usually has the red button on it) If that does not work, the pilot is either fed from the gas manifold on the top (sometimes has a small needle valve to shut off, or it could be fed throught the safety valve. The valve will have an adjustment in it, usually under a cover screw. If the pilot fuel flow does not stop when there is not flame present, You should have the safety valve replaced. This can be a potentially hazardous scenario. Hope this information helps.

Do you have a natural gas or propane water heater. You could possibly have a dirty valve which stops the flow of the gas. Has there been a change with the environment of the water heater. Check for the draft and back blow of the available air. If the water heater is over 6 years old maybe it is time to replace the unit. Good Luck

I have an Amana dinosaur model P67470 dual HVAC. It's blowing fine but the pilot light's goine out. I can find the valve but don't know where to light it?

Not an easy one to get to. From the gas valve, follow the small 1/8" diameter (usually copper) line toward the heat exchanger. It will lead to a pilot assembly just over one of the burners. Using a long match or shis-ka-bob stick, hold a flame just over the pilot assembly until you see the pilot light. Remember you will need to have the gas valve knob on the Pilot setting and depressed into the gas valve. Continue to hold down on the knob for 15-30 seconds. Then after the pilot remains on, rotate the gas knob to the On position. Hope this helps!
