Want apple butter recipe

Slow-Cooked Apple Butter
Yield: 5 to 6 cups
Time: 14 hours, mostly unattended 5 pounds (about 10 large) apples, preferably a mix of sweet and tart varieties, cut into 1-inch chunks
2 cups apple cider
1 cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup Applejack or Calvados
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
Zest and juice of ½ large lemon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
¼ ground ginger
? teaspoon ground cloves
? teaspoon ground allspice

1. Heat the oven to 400°F. Spread the apple chunks in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast until they're softened but not very brown, about 20 minutes. Transfer the apples and any juices they've released to a slow cooker.

2. Add all the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Cover the pot. Turn the slow cooker to low and cook until the mixture has turned brown and reduced to a chunky pure?e, about 10 hours. (This is convenient to do overnight.)

3. Remove the lid, turn the slow cooker to high, and cook, stirring occasionally, for an additional 3 hours or longer, depending on the desired consistency. (The longer you cook it, the thicker the butter will be.) Turn off the slow cooker.

I have an old food dehydrator, the brand is Quality Special Products. Does anyone have a manual or other info about this model please?

as you did not provided model - general advice only can be given.

you need to experiment aa bit - drying time on the soft fruit depend on weight, usually you calculate 1hr/1kg(2.2lb) on 50% settings. this depend as well on the size of the fruit, little plums and apricots will be ready within 1hr, especially if stones are removed and fruit halved.

apples and peaches, if cut in 6ses or eights - will take same about amount of time.

whole tomatoes, halves of pears or apples will take about 1h30min to even 2hrs per kg (2.2lb).

pulps and liquids take at least 2hrs per kg, and leathers up to 3hrs.

if there is temperature regulator on your dryer, then set it up at between 50 to 60centigrade (120 to 140 Fahrenheit),temperature above 70c (160f) will seal and prevent drying.

dried fruit should be not too hard, easy bend without cracking and no feelable moisture.

prepare fruits by washing them in following solution: juice of 1 lemon, two spoon of honey (can be sugar but I love honey), four cups of water, mix well and soak fruit cuts in that solution - will prevent blackening (oxygenation) of the surfaces, honey will prevent spoilage, it is antibacterial.

drying meat - slices should be not thicker than 10mm (3/8"), it takes on average 2 x 4hrs at 70centigrade (160f), one day 4hr and next day 4hrs. it will keep meat in dry container for even few weeks, depending on weather and humidity and curing method.

prepare meat same way as fruits, but add your favourite herbs as well, including two table spoon of coarse pepper, one spoon of cayenne, and if you like peri-peri or dried chillis, 4 to 8 cloves of finely chopped garlic add immensely to the taste as well, add at least 1.5 cup of salt to the solution. keep your sliced meat in it at least 4hrs (in cold storage!), overnight it will be better.

hope this will help you - do not forget to vote :-)

How to prevent sliced apples from turning brown?

Toss them in a dash of vinegar or lemon juice. That not only prevents them from turning brown, but also brings out the flavour.

How do I freeze sliced apples

Apple slices will oxidize and turn brown in the presence of air. The trick is to vacuum seal them prior to freezing. They will keep well for up to a year so prepared.

Freeze sliced apples

A little lemon juice will keep them from turning brown. If you don't care about brown, don't bother.

How do you do the master cleanse?

The master cleanse requires ORGANIC cayenne pepper, ORGANIC lemons, ORGANIC maple syrup.( grade B.) Sea salt. ( the salt cannot be iodized salt. It has to be sea salt or himalayan rock salt from the health food store) You also need a laxative tea. ( a strong one ) For 10-30 days, you will eat nothing, drink nothing, except for lemonade that you make with purified water( 1 Litre) with the juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbs of maple syrup and cayenne to taste. You may drink unlimited amounts of lemonade daily.
Every night you drink your laxative tea. Every morning you make your salt water flush. 1 quart of warm water and 2 teaspoons of your sea salt. You drink this down and try not to ****. Do NOT leave the house. Stay near a toilet as this will produce an urgent bowel movement. Also, no store bought lemon juice as it contains chemicals and nitrates, you MUST use real lemons

How to make ice tea , in the iced tea maker

Iced tea is made using citrus fruits such as citrus fruits, limes, lemons and even the berries. This recipe I've made use of charcoal powder. You can also make use of tea leaves. Green tea is also a good option to make the ice tea. Because tea is rich in antioxidants, it's a good idea to incorporate tea into your diet.

I've made use of organic, unrefined cane sugar to sweeten the tea. You can also add jaggery (though the flavor will differ) and any other sugar of your preference.
How to make iced Tea recipeSteeping tea
1. In a pan pour 1.25 litres water.
2. Place the pan over an open flame. Let the water get to a boiling point.
3. After the water has come to an end of boiling, turn off the burner and pour in 2 cups of black tea powder. To give a subtle tea taste one can add 1 tablespoon of tea powder. In lieu of powdered tea, you could make use of green or black tea leaves.
4. You can add 1/3-1/2 cup of sugar. For a taste that is less sweet you can add 1/4 cup of sugar.
5. Mix well, and let the tea leaves infuse within the water for 4 five minutes. If you want a milder tea flavor, steep for between 2 and 3 minutes.
6. After the tea has been steeped in the hot water add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. To give it a more lemony flavor it is possible to include 4 tablespoons lemon juice as well. It is also possible to skip the lemon juice completely and just make simple cold tea.
7. Stir using the spoon
8. Then strain the tea into the glass or stainless steel jar. The glass jar must be able to withstand the temperature.
9. Allow the tea to cool to the room temperature. You can then chill it in the refrigerator.
10. As you serve Add four to five glasses of ice cubes. You can add more or less according to your taste. Additionally, you can add between 1 and 2 slices of lemon. The addition of lemon slices is not required.
11. Pour the tea into the glass.
12. Garnish with slices of lemon or a small sprig of mint leaves.
Serve tea with ice immediately. While drinking , stir the tea with an ice cube or stirrer.
