Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Hiya, i've got synergy mobile sewing mashine, been sitting in box for years. I decided to try it out. I've been using for about an hour and it stopped working. Changed the socket, fiddled with the cables, nothing. Does it mean it's knackered?

If it had been sitting for a while, you probably need to oil it before using. Doesn't mean it's completely knackered, clean it and oil it (should be instructions in your user's manual) and see if it will start again. If not, probably take it to a shop and see if they can get it going.

I have a Singer Samba 6. It is very old and it hasn't been used over 20 years. Everything is fine, the mashine is working but the feed system is not moving the fabric. I found the manual but it doesnt...

IF IT IS THIS OLD AND SITTING AROUND YOU NEED TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN IT FIRST. TO GET THE OLD GREASE LOOSE YOU WILL NEED TO SPRAY CARBORATOR CLEANER ON IT. USE AN OLD TOOTH BRUSH TO SCRUB WITH AND SMALL RAGS AND QTIPS TO GET HARD TO GET AREAS CLEAN. AFTERWARDS USE SPRAY OIL (WD40) ON EVERYTHING THAT MOVES AND GET THE MACHINE TO MOVE FREELY. THEN CLEAN THIS OIL OFF VERY GOOD; ESPECIALLY AROUND THE BOBBIN AREA. NOW, USE SEWING MACHINE OIL AND LUBRICATE METAL AGAINST METAL MOVEMENT OF PARTS. REMEMBER, YOU MUST DO THIS ON THE TOP AND UNDERNEATH. BY THE TIME YOU HAVE DONE THIS THE FEED DOGS SHOULD BE FUNCTIONING. MAKE SURE THE FEED LENGTH IS ABOVE ZERO OR THE MATERIAL WILL NOT MOVE.

How to thread singer 57817

here is a link for a free manual, read the manual competely thru
first and then if the machine has been sitting up for years look in
the manual for oiling instructions and then oil where it shows
and then sew on a scrap piece of fabric but don't use any thread
so the oil can move thru the machine and loosen it up,,
try using a new needle--one that is right for the fabric you sew

Sewwing mashine sudenlly just turned off

if you have tried unplugging and letting it set for a few mins and plugging it back in... and still have no joy... it is likely that a short or something blew a fuse. I would take the machine in and have them do a check, clean and adjust while they did the repair.

My bernina E65 will not work,Help

since the machine has been sitting up for close to 2 years it needs to be serviced also.
when a machine sit up the grease & oil can become yuckie & machine will not respond good & sometime not respond at all.
it's also possible that the machine can have a loose or broken part

I can't replace the shuttle hook.

I'm dealing with the same issue. I just now returned to the machine and got the blankety blank thing back in. I find I have to manually lift the metal bar that runs across the shuttle race, and then get lucky. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm under the gun on a Halloween costume, and can't afford the down time. I'm using an embroidery font, and in the home stretch, having thread bunch and break, so am having to clean the bobbin area frequently. Grrrr. Had this machine 10 years. When it's good, it's very good. When it's bad, it's horrid. Good luck and happy sewing.

Hello. I've have a problem with my super ace II model 955. Some of the buttons on the front panel dosent react when they are pressed. Is the any way to make a reset of the sewing mashine?

I've looked at your manual and do not see the buttons that you are referring to, what buttons are your pressing? Are you sure of your model number? I want to help you but I need more detail. I have 50+ years of sewing and feel if I do know the whole problem that I can help you, but I have to have the details.

In need of a White sewing Machine manual

You can download White manuals from Singer. Just go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html and type W in the search box. The next page will be a list of White machines with manuals available. They may not have the exact model (as in my case), but there will be a similar one.
