Please help!!! How do I boot my Lenovo into Safe Mode? The F8 key doesn't bring anything up. I do have a "one key recovery," which takes me into a "setup utility" but nowhere is there "safe mode." I'v

I have gone into the InsydeH20 Setup Utility, and it currently says Boot mode is "UEF l" and USB Boot "enabled." That's under the "Boot" section. Under "Security," it reads the following: Secure Boot- Enabled; Secure Boot Status - Enabled; Secure Boot Mode - Standard; Platform Mode-User Mode; Reset to Setup Mode, Restore Factory Keys, both of which you just press Enter. All I want to do is run antivirus and Malware programs to see if I can clean up this mess, and the only thing I'm familiar with is doing so in Safe Mode. Thanks for any help!

You might try going back into your setup and disabling Secure Boot, and look for "verbose" or "full" mode for startup - this will print the entire startup sequence on boot - valuable for troubleshooting hardware and some software issues.

As for the ability to boot to Safe Mode - the process is different for different OS - you can find detailed step for starting in Safe Mode in Win8/8.1 here

After I boot up my computer all that brings is just a by screen saver with nothing else no icons or anything. Any help would be great.

For some reason it seems that explorer.exe isn't start. I would start by rebooting into safemode. After the bios boot screen, but before the windows loading screen repeatedly press F8 to bring up a menu. Try safe mode with networking first and run an anti-virus scanner. Usually virii and other malware tend to do this.
