Question about Sony Cineza VPL HS2 Multimedia Projector
Ive recently bought a second hand Sony Cineza VPL-HS2 projector and it doesnt have an AVG input in the back. It does have a S-Video input, a 'video' input and a couple of audio inputs, aswell as a PL multi but im using an older Toshiba model laptop and the only options are USB or AVG so ive orderd a AVG to S-Video converter cable.. will i be able to put the AVG into my laptop and the S-Video into the projector for it to work? I do have the PJ Multi lead but its rather useless to me
I think you mean "VGA" not "AVG". You can use the VGA to S-Video adapter to connect the laptop to the projector however you may get better results using a VGA to A/V (component) adapter to feed video into the RCA video input connector.

Testimonial: "Yes, sorry i did mean VGA. The adapter arrived this morning BUT after connecting the VGA i then went to insert the s-video but realised the wire was the same as the input (if that makes sense, sorry im not tech savvy at all but basically both the S-video input socket and the S-Video lead have the same connections. The lead doesnt have any pins to fit into the input) Im really confused with the connections for this projector.. where is the RCA video connector? there is a yellow input next to s-video that says "Video" underneath, is that it? I have no idea what cable to buy... are you able to suggest one for me from amazon or somewhere?"

These instructions are for a Sony Cineza VPL HS3, but may be the same for the HS2
1st thing to check - is the cover properly/completely closed - this can stop the projector from working.
Connect the power and set the projector to standby mode.
Press these buttons on the remote control in this order, for less than 5 seconds each.
Reset - Left Arrow - Right Arrow - Enter
This is required, to reset the lamp timer.
Also, something I found interesting from the internet - lamp life isn't when the bulb dies, but when a bulb has lost 10% of its brightness - so you might well be able to reset the timer and get much more use from the bulb - the image just wont be as bright.
