The Gas orifice is clogged and needs to be cleaned. Dismantle the orifice from the gas feeder tube and soak it in a solvent such as gasoline for a few hours. Reassemble.

My procom wall mount heater NG 18000 BTUH WILL NOT STAY LIT The flame will just go out

The problem is more than likely in the flame rectification circuit. The little rod that senses the flame probably has barely perceptible corrosion on either its surface or on the physical wiring connections between it and the ignition control module. A little touch with the sandpaper at these connections should take care of it. I've had extreme cases where the actual furnace grounding conductor was creating the issue.

Reliant 501 Natural Gas won't stay lit

Reliance water heater?
Thermocouple is good if the pilot stays lit continuously.

501 is older model. Unknown if this unit has FVIR protection and sealed combustion chamber or open air intake on front of unit.

With FVIR protection:
Get more fresh air to the unit.
Clean the flame arrestor screen.
Test and replace the thermocouple:
Inspect and clean burner and combustion parts
Test gas pressure, bleed air out of gas line.
Replace gas control valve.
Test draft air by lighting match and see if smoke is pulled into the vent pipe at draft hood on top of tank.

Pilot light will not stay lit.

More than likely the thermal couple is defective. The thermal couple is a safety device that shuts the gas off if the pilot goes out. If it is defective the pilot light will not stay lit. The thermal couple is the device that the small copper line goes to. It is mounted beside the pilot flame and the flame much touch the TC for it to work. If the flame is not touching the TC bend it until it is in the flame. If it is touching the TC then replace it.

Pilot light will not stay on my provence gas heater at any setting

first thing to do is make sure you got gas? figure you know that so here we go.
where the gas comes out for the pilot flame. use a pipe cleaner and run it down in it about 2 or 3" .
sometimes a spider web will block the flow of gas and it's not enough to heat the probe that keeps the pilot flame lit. or the flame sensor is bad. it's rare to have the sensor go bad but it can. a can of air and blow it out good is always a good thing. Good luck. always be careful.......

Pilot don't stay lit after the gas control knob is release.

The thermocouple is bad and you will have to replace it...
The thermocouple is the thing that sticks up in the flame to sense that the flame is on... if it goes bad the pilot flame will not stay lit when you release the button...

Hayward H400FDN won't stay lit

It is probably not sensing flame. You either have a clogged orifice underneath the flame sensor and you probably need to have the gas pressure assessed, meter size and gas valve pressure adjustment. These heaters need 2" wc of gas pressure.

Pilot light lights and stays lit until you turn the temp up. Burner ignites for a few seconds and then everything goes out and you have to wait about an hour to relight it

Sounds like this is the gas regulator giving the the problems, i would call a local plumber to service this . gas and flame is very dangerous.

My pilot will not stay lit. What can i do?

Without knowing the type of system you have then you should check the pilot and the flame sensor. If the flame sensor is not sensing that the pilot is lit then it will shut it off. If the pilot is not releasing enough gas or to much and the air/gas mixture is not correct then the pilot needs to be replaced. You can get these at your local hardware store. Price will be anywhere from roughly 35 - 45 dollars

Flame wont stay lit

Sounds like a flame sensor problem. The board is not getting the proper signal from the flame sensor so it thinks the burner did not light and shuts the gas supply off. It keeps the blower operating to ensure that no gas is accumulated in the burner area. I suggest you contact a local mechanical contractor to service your heater.

Blue flame heater pilot wont stay lit

There is a therma-couple that the flame burns against. When it is working correctly it allows gas to travel to the flame. When it goes out you get no gas, as a safety feature. Replace the therma couple and it should work again.
