I am sorry, but I would need more information to help you. Which make and model scooter do you have? Which coil? Maybe a picture would help.

I have a black and a white wire going to coil on 1991 dodge Dakota which one goes on positive side

the wires that come from the ignition go on the + terminal of the coil. As most earth wires are plain black I would say the white wire to the + terminal and the black to the distributor

How to test 95 Tacoma 2.4L internal distributor coil

You may need a shop manual for the procedure.
The black and red wire should be hot from the key. Other than that, you would need to know which wire sends a signal from the igniter to the coil to fire the plugs. The wiring diagram shows two wires from the computer to the igniter and nothing to the coil.

I have fire going through the coil but not through the distributor

if you have spark at the distributor end of the coil wire and nothing coming out of the distributor wires then you may have a distributor rotor that has a small hole causing the spark to go to ground to the distributor shaft and not out the cap may have to take a very close look at it as it may only show as a black or grey track mark.or just change the cap and rotor if its been a while.

I have a kawasaki mini ninja and i have a wire that is coming from the cylinder and the wire is by the spark plug cap and its not geting any fire is this because of this black wire??? and if so where does...

Follow the sparkplug wire to the coil. Chances are the small black wire is the power wire to the coil. In any event, find where the black wire plugs into another black wire and be sure it has a good connection.

Need coil wiring diagram

Contact points cover open.

Left side points are for cylinders 1 and 4.
Right side points are for cylinders 2 and 3

Left side points have a White wire coming from it.
Right side points have a Black wire coming from it.

One coil runs two cylinders.

One coil runs cylinders 1 and 4.
One coil runs cylinders 2 and 3.

No matter what style of ignition coil you use, the Black wire will connect to the Points. Whatever other color of wire they use, connects to the ignition switch.

BUT, check the specifications for the coils you're going to install. Connect the Negative side to the points. The Positive side to the ignition switch.

The Orange wire with a White stripe, coming out of the harness of the Suzuki Gs550 is from the ignition switch. It goes to a splice connector, and from there goes to two wires. The wires split off into one wire for each coil.

There is a White wire on the coil, that is used for Cylinders 1 and 4.
There is a Black wire on the coil, that is used for Cylinders 2 and 3.

90 to 98 legacy (mine is a 98) coil should be the square-ish black unit with two sparkplug wires coming off laterally from each side--------sitting right on top of engine--middle of the silver colored alloy intake manifold--just behind alternator.
...The low voltage wire leads plug into the passenger side of the coil unit--covered with the flexible black protector--within which are 3 wires. Likely can tap here.

Hi nd welcome to FixYa,

On a Honda CB550K, wiring would be:
  • blue - from ignition coil to contact breaker;
  • yellow - from ignition coil to contact breaker;
  • black/white - to the ignition coils from the emergency switch (engine off);
  • red - from the center fuse of the fuse bank to the ignition switch;
  • black - ignition +12 from ignition switch;
  • black/red - I don't recall a black/red wire on the harness.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

if theres no current to the cdi but the light works then its either the outer coil or the stator coil is bad and the lighting coil still works.
