Just a Further thought. You said "The timer also will not move passed the fill cycle" To move past the fill cycle the machine needs feedback from the water level sensor to tell the timer to continue when there is enough water. The sensor is often based on pressure coming down a small flexible pipe to the actual sensor device. try disconnecting the flex pipe at the tub & blow down it. Check that its clear & that it actuates the sensor switch. You can also jumper the switch to simulate a full tub. Hope this helps.... at least it's a starting point.

Hi Kirby
First... Caution
Because your dealing with water & electricity it can be lethal to fiddle around inside. That said...
Washing machines are controlled by a master timer unit, usually mechanical, but rotated by an AC Clock motor. If the timer is not getting voltages to the various Switches around the "timer unit" or "clock motor" then the individual selected functions won't work.
Manually Rotating to a particular function then Activating the On/Off Push/Pull switch should start things happening even if timer motor is dead. So
If your OK with AC electrical goods then open it up.
Connection wires may have fallen off or something simple. A multimeter is your best friend here. Look for the big rotary clock behind the main control dial. Listen for the clock motor running. The main Push in & out Button is the On / Off switch. Check that its got AC on the input wire & switches across to the other wire when the knob is pushed in / out. This may be the problem...

You can always call an appliance repair technician!
Good Luck

Why is my amana front loading washer is leaking as soon as i turn it on

If it's leaking immediately it starts to fill check the detergent dispenser isn't clogged up (pull it out and clean warm water and an old toothbrush). Or a pipe to the dispenser may be split, you would need to take off the top panel and observe it filling but beware of high voltages so no touching anything inside with mains connected!!

From the closed position lift the lid of the washer about 2'' and listen for a distinct click. Then set lid back down and should hear another click just before it closes. The wire form hinge on left side of lid actuates the lid switch. Is it broken? Let me know.

Hello
I am familiar with this problem and 99% of the time it is caused by the washer lid safety switch, if the switch doesn't function the washer control will not let the cycle run past filling the tub with water. You can buy the part and get information on how to install it from a company called www.repairclinic.com
