Remove the batteries from the remote. If the probkem stops then the remote maybe defective or it might need the conductive pad cleaned. If the problem persists with the batteries removed from the remote then the problem is with the sound bar itself.

Wont retain audio settings

Try just using the optical cable alone. connecting the HDMI and the optical cables at the same time might be confusing the TV.

I turn it off and it turns right back on by itself

Very strange... it sounds like you're getting the glitch with the remote start feature. If you have a PSP and you use it with your PS3 that could cause it at times, and there is a glitch with the remote start feature that can make it randomly turn on. Try disabling remote start, and of course you could always just use the power switch in the back of your console when you turn it off also, that's what I do whenever I turn it off.

LG viewty switching itself off and not restarting until battery removed and replaced LG Viewty randomly switches itself off and won't switch on again until battery has been removed and replaced.

I have exactly the same problem! My Viewty just switches itself off whenever I send/receive text/calls. I can't even switch it on anymore without it turning itself off after less than a minute!
I have contacted LG, but they are not responding. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Unable to control channels or volume

Is the remote a universal? Make sure you select TV as the the device you are trying to control. You can also fix a wonky remote by popping out the batteries and mashing down all the buttons. This rids the remote of any built up electricity that could be hampering functionality. Also, the remote sensor on the TV is controlled internally of course so a power drain of the TV wouldn't hurt:

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board. 3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
What do the buttons on the TV itself do? Do they work properly? If not, the problem is going hand-in-hand with the remote and again, the problem is internal and service or a firmware update, if available, may resolve this.
