I have eight L6 verados and have a combined total of over 12,000 hours on them. In the absence of the usual possible external fitting leaks and such, there are three major areas to examine for oil loss:
1- Burning the oil. Do you notice blue or grey smoke while the engine is running? Usually this is a slow method of oil loss.
2. Oil loss through the main engine oil seals. Do you notice oil on top the motor around the flywheel, alternator, and starter? There are also seals on the bottom but in my experience, the top seal is most prone to leaking.
3. Oil loss around the drive shaft seals leading down to the lower unit. Do you pull the boat out of the water onto a trailer? If you do, when you load onto the trailer, look at the flange over the prop on the lower unit after running the engine and tilting the motor straight up and down. If you notice oil dripping (especially while it is still hot) onto that flange coming from around the bottom of the chaps on the lower unit, it is probably the seals around the drive shaft.

How many miles are on the car. it is normal for a care with a 100k or more to use a qt of oil about every 1500 to 2000 miles if you keep your foot in it. read your owners manual about how often you should check your oil. it is more often than you would think. think about using an oil additive that helps reduce oil consumption.

Need valve clearance for Mercury outboard 6 cylinderVerado

????.. Valve shim clearance is guaranteed for life...???

The inline 6-cylinder Mercury Verado 225 HP is one of the few supercharged outboards on the market designed to provide robust low-end torque. That means the engine can produce snappy mid-range acceleration and plane at a lower speed. Its unique overhead cam design means that the valve train does not need maintenance for life.

Hey i have a 2010 mercury verado 150 hp .when i use the boat i lose voltage and battery power about 3 hours of trolling .I just replaced the battery still draining and loss of volts . Help please

You are using too much power over that period of time. Sure you have nothing else connected to it? If not, then something in your motor ignition circuit is drawing excessive power - not enough to short out battery but enough to drain it prematurely. Igniter? Ignition electronics, if any?

Started to vibrate at 4300 rpm. Got a low voltage warning from smart craft. Could it be a bad spark plug or lose wire?

vibrate at idle ? or in gear? if in gear you could have a bent prop or worse a bent shaft , yes strong vibrations will shake the wires loose
if engine shakes in neutral too , then not all cylinders are firing , ck your wires for seated and tight on plug caps

power will be significantly reduced if not all cylinders are firing

I have 2004 mercury verado that is making ticking sound - I thought it was oil, but some one told me that it could be the lower unit... Any suggestion ? Thanks!

knocking is normally the lower unit
ticking is more associated with faulty hydraulic lifters , worn rocker arm bushes or worn rocker shafts
if there is amiss the it could be a spark jumping

My 2005 ford focus engine light just came on. Nothing seems to be wrong with it. I'm at a loss..???

You may want to check your belts, make sure they are all turning as the engine is running.

check your oil to be sure it is not overfull or underfull.

Make sure it's not overheating.

If you have an autozone nearby and have verified the oil and temp are fine, they usually will hook up a code scanner to identify any problems with sensors and such.

You may also want to just inspect the wire that goes to the oil pressure sending unit and/or oil pressure switch, either loose or disconnected can cause the engine light to come on.

good luck
