I have an old technics su-z22 amp and a denton tape deck with an it seems an incompatable record out socket from the amp and two rca sockets on the tapedeck how can i marry the two up

Having looked at the back of the model referred to I see two sets of RCA sockets for the connection of two tape decks. So I don't know what you mean by incompatible record out socket? There is a 5 pin din but you can use the two RCA sockets to connect the tapedeck. If you have a good quality RCA lead it should record and playback. You can in fact connect two tape recorders to this unit using the RCA sockets.

MY RCA VCR - TIMER LIGHT ALWAYS FLASHES. WHEN i TRY TO RECORD OR TURN OFF VCR IT EJECTS TAPE.

If it plays a tape OK, then it could be that you have a timer set. In which case clear it! Or that you are using a blank tape where the slot at the back is open. If you are using a blank tape which is good and it still ejects the tape after setting the recording. Then it's likely the recording tab sensor - that detects the slot at the back of the tape - is either bent or broken.

MODEL NOM7740-N, HOW TO CONNECT THE TAPE TO LAPTOP FOR CASSETTE CONVERTION

you need a RCA Y connector jack (2 male RCA jacks to 1 mini) and this software http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ the 2 RCA jacks will be place in the out on the tape deck or receiver and the mini to your mic jack on laptop... the software audacity will also give you the choice of what type of file to use (mp3 takes up less on the laptop)

note this will be in real time (if the tape is 30 min , yep 30 it is).. now once you get it converted its gonna be a matter or seconds to copy (record)

How can I digitize cassette tapes using the Marantz PMD670?

Take a set of RCA Jack cords (4 jacks) and on the tape recorders "out" jacks attach one pair and on the PMD 670's "In" Jacks attach the other pair. Set the tape a few seconds before where you want to record , set your levels to where you want them, start the recorder then start recording with the PMD.

You may need to test record a few seconds to make sure the recording is at the level you want it to be. Plug in a set of headphones to the PMD and listen in from time to time to make sure it's recording OK.

There you go.

Best,

Dan

Camcorder won't record

Check the tape and make sure the record tab is still on the tape and has not been removed. If the record tab has been removed then use a new tape for recording as the unit will not record. This tap is usually on the lower left end of the back of the tape. When the tap is present it closes a record mode switch letting the system know the tape is able to bv recorded on..

How do I record from a CD onto a tape?

Two ways. You can put the audio out leads of the CD into the line in of the recorder. However you will have to listen to the recording by connecting headphones to the Recorder's jack socket.
The most common way is to connect the recorder to an amp and the CD to the same and with the cd playing back press record.
In both cases you must set the record level control so that sound on the VU meters peaks at loudest parts at around 0db, rarely going over (into the red on LED type meter).
You will need a 4way RCA type phono cable, the better quality types will give you a better sound. Connect the playback jacks via the output sockets of the recorder to the tape inputs of the amp, vice-versa for the record jacks.

Dubbing from vcr to vcr

Connect with RCA cable to RCA jacks\plugs::
output [player] audio to INPUT [recorder]
OUTPUT [player] Video to INPUT [recorder]
*************************************************
Place blank tape in RECORDER, Tape that you want to record from into PLAYER.Press Record [recorder machine], wait one second, press PAUSE.( thats to give record tape "breathing" space.) Set up your player tape to start playing. When you know what you want to record, press PAUSE again to begining recording. Press PAUSE after the recorded section to install 2nd tape, etc. etc.
NOTE:: some VCRs use PAUSE 2nd time to release and continue recording, while some machines you must press RECORD button again to release PAUSE. you must expirement before begining your project.

Recording from DVR to Cassette using this?

Well, generally, you simply need a Cable of the RCA 3way A/V cable variety, usually with Red, Yellow & White RCA plugs on the end... there should be corresponding RCA Sockets on each machine.. Plug the leads in colour to colour, then insert tape in VCR and select the Auxiliary Input (Or whatever input it is actually called) to Record from... start "Recording" Then on the DVR start "Play" and ya should be all up & running. What I do first, is set it up on my TV first, using the RCA sockets, set it up so it is all playing clear picture etc.. then I connect up to the VCR. NB: There are "Other" types of "Inputs & Outputs" among them ones called "Composite Video" "S-VHS" "SCART" ALL of these have standard interconnect leads, so if on your machine you DO NOT have the RCA Sockets.. but have one of those "Other" simply procure a Male to Male Cable of that type & then simply substitute the alternate "Cable" for the "RCA" & the rest is the same.
