Its a good make although I believe even they are made in china or somewhere, but sewing machines need a careful touch to run properly. If its under warranty take it to a dealer. If its not, take it to a specialist. Who may be the dealer. Best bet for long life and smooth running.

SOURCE: skipping stiches

1) It’s possible the machine is threaded incorrectly. Remove the thread completely and rethread the machine. Be sure to use good quality thread--don't buy the cheapest you can find. A good thread will help your machine perform better and your projects last longer.

2) Poor stitch quality can be caused by the needle. Make sure you're using a new needle that's right for the job. Many times machines are taken in for repairs and all they need is a new needle. If you can't remember the last time you changed the needle--it's past time. Needles should be changed at least every eight hours of sewing.

3) When inserting a new needle, make sure the flat side of the needle faces away from the bobbin area. For example, if your machine has a frontloading bobbin, the flat side of the needle faces the back of the machine. If your machine has a side-loading bobbin, the flat side faces the right side of the machine. Some older sergers require special needles that don't have a flat side. Refer to your owner's manual to properly install a serger needle.

4) Thread that shreds or breaks can be blamed on the needle. Use a good thread and make sure the needle eye is large enough for the thread type. Also use the right type of needle for the fabric;
5) The machine tension adjustments put stress on the thread so it doesn't simply flow through the machine. When the upper and lower tensions are balanced, the stitch forms correctly. Tension is easy to adjust--stitch on fabric samples with a different thread colour for the upper and lower threads. Observe the stitch, adjusting the tension until the stitch is formed correctly. As a general rule, adjust the upper tension first. If the stitch still isn't right, adjust the bobbin tension.

SOURCE: Bobbin Case

I'm having a similar problem today. I took out the bobbin case and when I went to put it back in, the whole system locks up. I've tired cleaning, changing needle taking the metal plate and piece that holds bobbin case out and put it all back in after cleaning. Nothing. My symptom is I can't get a complete stitch, the needle goes down, the whole deal acts like it will work and as soon as the arm of the bobbin case gets to 8 o' clock on the gears, It jams and won't hardly move. I cannot pull the bobbin case out easily after this. Perhaps there is someone out there that can help us!

SOURCE: hand wheel is stuck

hi there,
well, stuck up hand wheel, is due to mechanical obstruction inside machine, bushing on shafting need to oil,and on handwheel bushing near clutch there is oil port there. since hand wheel are connected to cam shaft with set of gears and pulley is coupled to motor pulley, and other linkage under bobbins, shuttle race etc, broken gears are most common causes of stuck up handwheel,we can consider also the brush carbon, when worn out and damage the rotor commutator brush.if you can open the cover of motor below side of handwheel, you can see the pulley and motor assembly.also on top of machine there an opening to see the top gear assembly, this should be done by service technician.try to bring to nearest service center if still under warranty claim this for lesser maintenance cost.have a nice day, don't forget to rate me.thank's.

SOURCE: Singer 4562 t bobbin case won't fit properly, what am I doing wro

Make sure the bobbin case sets sort of on top and not under the ridge of the metal ring. There is a small latch on the upper left of the bobbin case. It is metal. rotate the latch to cover the bobbin case and this should stabilize the case without making it immobile

even though the machine is fairly new, it sounds like it needs to be serviced, to see if there are any broken or damaged parts.

Singer 4166 suddenly started sewing only in reverse even when forward mode checked

open the top of the sewing machine. Then press the button or lever that changes the forward reverse mode. You may find that something got stuck there where it should effect the machine part. May a drop of oil on that spot can help?

I need to know how can I unlock my sewing machine

When you say unlock. i suspect you have a thread jam. Remove the needle, bobbin case and rock the hand wheel backwards and forwards. It may need lubrication internally.

Hand Wheel Won't Turn

The "Bobbin stopper" is in the incorrect position. It moves from side to side in a switch like motion. In one direction, it locks up the machine. That is, you can turn the wheele backwards, but not forward.. The bobbin stopper can be found in the book that cam with the machine. In our book, it is item #9.

here is some troubleshooting
Download your manual.
manual

Ok I know that youve checked this, but I have to ask.
Pg 39
Check and make sure the reverse lever isnt engaged.

I'm looking at pg 27 and see you have a traditional bobbin casing (not a drop in) make sure your bobbin is wound well and the case is inserted correctly. (they are picky)
Change your needle make sure its in right and tight. (I have bent many a needle just slightly, and it causes huge issues with this particular type of bobbin casing)
Pg 35 gives a test for the bobbin tension. If your thread rolls, the tension is too loose, OR the case may have gotten damaged.

Lets see if this helped.
Good luck

It needs a good cleaning of lint, thread etc. take your bobbin case out and make sure that there is nothing in there. DO NOT TURN YOUR HAND WHEEL BACKWARDS! It will mess up your timing. If you cannot free it up take it for service
