Question about Whirlpool Dryers
We changed the element to the dryer but still having the same problem.. not heating up to dry the clothes
Sounds like a tripped circuit breaker in the power panel for the house. The breaker for the dryer is actually 2 breakers connected together so if one trips so will the other. Sometimes this does not happen and only one breaker trips. This condition removes power to the heating element but still supplies power to the rest of the dryer. Check to see if the breaker will reset by turning off and back on several times. Then check the power receptacle that the dryer plugs into with a voltmeter set to read 240 volts AC. If no 240 but 115 is present then replace the circuit breaker.

Yes, get a new element. The reason it's on all the time is because the element coils have broken and one of the coils is touching the canister that encloses it. This creates a direct short to ground. By the way, the element has 120 volts to it all the time. It will only HEAT when 240 is applied through the centrifugal switch of the motor. Your 120 volts is shorting to ground... not enough amps to trip the circuit breaker, but enough to glow the element.

SOURCE: Whirpool dryer won't heat up
You need to replace the thermal fuse and the timer. A bad timer will over draw a thermal fuse and cause it to blow.
Please remember to unplug the dryer before servicing
