Lubricate the mechanism with a spray grease...not oil. You can obtain spray grease from an auto parts store.

How to adjust height.

•This approach can increase the minimum and maximum heights, but only by 1/4 inch or so. 1) Get the cylinder out of the base. (This might not be easy. There are unanswered questions here how to do about this. I might have removed the wheels and then carefully stood on the star, or maybe hammered the cylinder out with a wood 4x4.) 2) Wrap a neat course or two of duct tape around the part of the cylinder that fits into the base. 3) Put the cylinder back into the base. This works because the bottom of the cylinder is tapered. (I invented and tested this fix. The seat wasn't too low, but the bottom of the cylinder was catching the carpet.)
•For a bigger raise you'd need to significantly modify the chair, which is technically demanding and risky. Modifications can fail. A chair made taller will be less stable because the base does not get wider.
•Tall adjustable chairs are sold for use at high counters. They often include foot rests, so that your feet won't dangle.
•If the desk or table wheels that can be removed, it might be easier to make the desk a few inches lower (at the expense of mobility) instead of raising the chair.

How do I lower the back?

To lower the back, lift it until it stops firmly. Now let it fall all the way down. (It might need a little push to go all the way down.) To raise the back, lift it slowly until it clicks once. Each click is a height setting; it will stay at that height. Repeat until the back is high enough. To go back down, start over.
(This definitely applies to Tempur-Pedic TP4100 Office chair.)

What can be doene with our executive office chair as it will not remain in the raised position. After raising it, then sitting, the chair slowly sinks down? What is the problem or what can be done.

The hydraulic gas lift is broken. If you want to fix it, you will need to find/buy a replacement. This is a common problem that happens with most all chairs, even if they are rated for heavier weight/long term use, they still do not seem to last more than 1-2 years of use at the most.

How do you raise the metro to make it sit higher off the floor? Is it adjustable

This mnaual wheelchair has dual position rear axles and caster forks to allow seat to floor height changes with no additional components. What this means is that the wheelchair is adjustable in height based upon the position of the front caster wheel axles and rear wheel axles. Raising the axles lowers the chair. Lowering the axle postion raises the chair. If the rear axles of the rear wheels are in the top position you can lower the wheels and raise the chair. Likewise, if the caster axles of the front wheels are in the top hole of the fork then put the wheels and axles in the lower hole to raise the chair. It is easy to accomplish this with basic tools.
If the front and rear wheels are already in the lower holes (the chair is in its highest position) you have another option. This option is a more expensive way to raise the chair by buying 4 new wheels. Lets say for example you have 24" diameter rear wheels. If you purchase new 26" diameter wheels you will raise the chair 1". If you have 6" casters and put on 8" casters this raises the chair 1" in the front. Hope this helps.

I was given a used Evenflo high chair. I can't figure out how to get the tray on or how to lower/raise high chair. There is no model number for me to give you. Can you help?

Through a discussion with the experjt, we found that the high chair consisted of two different manifactured pieces. The person that gave me the high chair, gave ,me an incorrect tray. She had 2 high chairs and accidentally swapped out the trays. The problem is being corrected..
