Question about Sharp Televison & Video
I have tried almost everything... I do not have a remote. It is stuck in TV mode and continuously asks that I "Please Run Channel Auto Scan". I can attempt to change to hdmi but it will not take, remains in TV mode.
There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done. To do a factory reset, you should have its remote control to follow.

I got the chat , but some how it got disconnected.
But i would like to help you in this aspect.
HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface, and supports transmission of both audio and video in high fidelity.
First make sure these things,
Both your computer and your TV will need to support HDMI interface.
It's quite a recent thing in PC graphics cards, so you may have to resort to S-Video, DVI or VGA for the video, plus a 3.5mm stereo cable (or the optical TOSLINK equivalent) for the sound.
Let know your comments and i will follow up with the suggestions.
Thanx for using fixya,

First off a little tip that manufacturers don't tell you is that you HAVE to TURN OFF the POWER to ANY UNITS that you are Connecting to via HDMI!!!!!!! If not you can short out the Inputs!!!!!!!! HDMI is usually Automatic, But sometimes you need to go into the Menus on all Devices to the HDMI section and write down their settings and compare them. Any definition that you are not sure of check the Manual or Google it! Match all the Settings (there won't be Much!) Hopefully the Inputs were not Damaged it only takes one time to short it out and then the Repairman makes a few bucks! Good Luck!

During power up and first time use, there should have been an option for channel scanning as the initial setup wizard began.
Alternatively, there should be a way to navigate to the channel scanning menu by selecting, Menu>TV>Auto Channel Search. I couldn't get the exact info from the model you listed, but I gathered this info from a similar owner's manual (lc-32sb28ut) from the Sharp webpage: http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx
Hope this helps.

I had a same problem with sharp LC-40LE340E. The service told me to change motherboard but I decided to buy a new LG TV. The sharp TV I left unplugged for a 50 days and after that when I tried again the tv started normally. I was Really surprised. Don't spend money just wait and check again. email@example.com
