Unfortunately, if you lost power as a result of a lightning storm or a power surge, there is a good chance that your dishwasher was exposed to a power surge that may have damaged the control circuitry. During these types of events, there is no way of knowing which device was affected unless there are visible signs of carbon or a burnt smell on the ircuit boards... so it will be a hit or miss proposition to repair it. You may have no choice other than to have an appliance person come in and diagnose the problem. Assuming they have a full complemnent of hardware with them, they might try swapping out individual piece parts until the right one is found... Good luck...

SOURCE: Is this GE Profile dishwasher recalled?

No recalls on any GE Profile model dishwashers. (there may have been service bulletins, but no recalls) Also, you missed the first two letters of the serial number.
You can go to this web site http://www.geappliances.com/products/recall/ to find info on any GE recall.

SOURCE: power not coming on

When a dishwasher appears to be dead, many times the door latch is to blame. On some models, that latch has a safety interlock switch directly controls the power, so that when the door is opened during a wash cycle, power is removed.

The problem is that the interlock switch can fail or get un-aligned, so the dishwasher does not get power.

Depending on your skill level, you can investigate the problem, using a phillips screw driver to open up the latch so you can see the interlock.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: MDBH945AWW maytag dishwasher panel lights will not

These control boards do not have fuses on them. I opened mine up when the front panel touch pad stopped working and the LED indicators were anemic. This is a sign of the ribbon cable connections have oxidized. The ribbon cable connects the touch pad to the control board.
Others have written up nice solutions on similar Maytag diswashers with the touch pad.
http://www.fixya.com/support/t387192-maytag_quiet_series_300_no_power_touch

The previous expert shows that you can diagnose this by using a 10k resistor and connecting pin 6 and 10 on the ribbon cable connector and it will start the dishwasher (you have to trip the door handle and carefully do this with the power on). This proves that the control board is fine and ribbon cable connections are the problem. Don't forget to quickly trip the door latch once the dishwasher starts.

My solution was to purchase a contact cleaner called Deoxit. You can order from RadioShack.com or get at Frys. Spray Deoxit on both the ribbon cable end (removed) and into the connector on the control board. Deoxit removed the oxide on the connectors. The twin pack Deoxit spray comes with a solution that helps prevent corrosion. I am 1 day into the successful repair of this model Maytag dishwasher.

Previous people have suggested heat and steam get into the control board and oxidize this connector. I notice on the top right where the control board sits, there is a gap to allow steam to get into the door/control board area. I used bathroom caulk to seal both sides of the door to hopefully prevent further corrosion.

No control panel lites. Washer started then stopped as if power shut off.

Hello John - Let's try resetting the dishwasher by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn on the unit. Confirm that the door is properly latched and try selecting a cycle. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, it could potentially mean a number of things: a potential wiring failure, damaged cord, faulty door latch assembly or control board. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

Maytag dishwasher error code 96?

Try killing power to the unit, typically this is at the breaker box but from time to time it may be connected to another circuit in the kitchen that may have GFCI circuit. Make sure the GFCI is not tripped killing power.

If you reset the unit from the household circuit breaker and it doesn't change, then contact a professional to have the main control board repaired.

It wont start. the hi temp and heavy button are the only buttons that come on

OK I am not an expert but I have spent the last two weeks learning about and fixing my dishwasher! Hopefully I can save you a headache. Try the following:

* Flip the switch off and on in your breaker/circuit box. May reset your washer.
* If that doesn't work, try running diagnostic/reset cycles by pressing heated dry -normal- heated dry or heated dry-sanitize-heated dry in sequence. If the cycles run fine, you will rule out a power, latch, motor/drying issue. It also may (hopefully) reset your system.
* If normal function still does not resume, make sure your power (from the breaker box) is turned off and unscrew (with a star-shaped screwdriver bit - check your car emergency kit/toolbox, you may find you have it) and open the front button control panel and check all connections. Try carefully unplugging and replugging wires and look for any corrosion/moisture on the circuit board.
* If that does not work, test the circuit board by unplugging the green ribbon cable from the control panel, reassembling with the ribbon cable unplugged, flipping your circuit back on and then closing the dishwasher door. If the drain motor runs, it will show you that there is still some function with the circuit board. Although it doesn't rule out the circuit board completely, it will point to a most likely control (button) panel issue and try replacing that. If the drain test does NOT run, it may be the circuit board that needs to be replaced.

Hopefully some of that helps!

Just won't work!!

Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

I would also advise to check the door switch as well. make sure the wires are connected to the switch and it is working. replace if found to be faulty.

Check the control as well. if the control is malfunctioning as you stated, this will be the logical solution here. replace the control board.
