Question about Necchi Sewing Machines
Machine fails to pick up bobbin thread
This is a tough fix. There is a metal ring with a hook on it that goes around the bobbin. Check that there are no threads jamming the bobbin parts. Short of that, sry its a trip to the repair shop.

have you tried other thread and a different bobbin? The tension screw on the bobin case could be too tight.

SOURCE: Threading & bobbin won't pick up
Make sure the needle is inserted all the way in with the long groove to the left.
Threading is through 1)the thread guide 2)The tension 3)The take up lever 4) The needle eye (left to right).
Remove the needle plate, thread the machine. Turn the hand wheel and watch the thread in the needle to see if it is above the eye of the needle. If it is, the machine needs to be retimed.

Generally when the needle does not pick up the bobbin thread, it means the needle is either too far in or just plain the wrong length. YOu might want to try lowering the needle just a hair and see if that helps.
