Just buy an other remote control. It will be the best. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.

SOURCE: will not turn on?

I have had the same problem twice. The complete PC Board had to be changed on mine for it to start working again. The part usually runs around $150 not including labor.

SOURCE: Auxiliary button on tv remote (I believe) needs off and I can't get figure out how...

The remote should have TV, VCR, AUX and maybe CABLE buttons at the top, one of which will light up when any button is pressed. Since it is a universal remote, the button at top lights up to let you know what mode it is in. If the AUX button lights up when any button is pressed, it means the remote is currently set to the AUX mode. To set it back to TV, simply press the TV button at the top. This puts the remote back in the TV mode and the TV button should now light up when any button is pressed. If that works and you are using a cable box with that set, then make sure the TV is on channel 3 by pressing 3 ENTER.

This seems most like the power key is tripped and haven't back to it's own place. Try to push the button let it rebound back. Else if there is a problem about the system, please try to use Restore Factory Settings to fix it, If anything can help you, I'm very pleased.

Smp-n200 shuts off after 10 seconds. reset button not effective. 6 months new

Simple fix when this happened to me... I replaced the battery on the remote controller and the media player started working and didn't shut off again. Apparently, when it first comes on, it does a self test. if it receives no input from the remote, it shuts itself off. Hope this helps... BTW, the battery for the remote is any 2030 battery. Just replace it and try it. let me know if it worked...

Why won't tv turn on by remote or power button unless we try 4-5 times?

My TV has the same problem.
At first, it was an issue with the button itself, somehow some gunk got down under the button and kept it from pressing down all the way most of the time.
A few days after we fixed that, it started to mess up again, this time it was an issue with the way it transmitted signal to the TV.

If the button being blocked isn't the issue, replace the batteries. If the batteries aren't the issue and you don't have a soldering gun, then you'll need to purchase a new remote.

I bought one from walmart for ten dollars and it works just fine for basic use.

Polaroid A500 digital camera pressed ON button, nothing happened with new AA batteries and SD card

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

The volume + and the ch + buttons on my remote won't work anymore. All others ok. I think I need a new remote control???

Being the most used buttons on the remote, you may very well need a new one.
That said, it won't matter if you ruin this one trying to fix it.
There's usually a screw in the battery compartment, but check for screw holes under stickers as well.
The unit should be fairly easy to pry apart with a flat screwdriver after that by gently prying around the seam to release the snaps.
Once this is accomplished, you should see that all buttons are on a big rubber pad with each button having a carbon contact at it's base.
locate the channel up and volume up pads, and scrape them with a pocket knife or other sharp instrument, but don't cut them....keep the blade 90 degrees to the pad when scraping.

Reassemble the unit, and make sure you have good batteries in it.

This should fix the remote and let you use it another year or two before you have to go contact scraping again.

When I turn on the TV with my remote the voice on the TV is not being heard. I press the volume all the way and no sound is heard. Could it be that I need a new remote

Well there are many problems I can see here.
First we need to see if it's the TV, Remote, or and Input problem
Do this:
1. Go to the TV and turn the volume up manually. Most TV's should show the volume bar going up and down. (If this fixes your problem then your remote either needs new batteries or the volume buttons are broke and you need a new remote)
2. If you hear nothing from step one then : Replace the batteries in the remote (This most likely is not the problem if the TV will still turn on with the remote)
3. Make sure your TV is not muted. You can usually do this with the remote. (After replacing the batteries) Seldom is there a physical mute button on the TV.
4. If you do all this and still have no sound then you need to check your inputs. First switch over to some other thing. Example: If your watching satellite switch over to a DVD player or a video game system. See if the sound works when you try to use those items. (If this fixes the problem you need to look at the back of your TV and determine if some wires have came loose.
This is all for now. There is a lot more I could go on with, and if the problem persists feel free to comment and I will try to get back with you.

MY PONTIAC G5 REMOTE DOES NOT WORK TO LOCK OR

I had your exact problem. My fix was resoldering the battery contact where it mates on the circuit board of the remote. ( It should be connected at 3 places ) The center and left were not making contact. only the panic button side was. Works like new now. btw while its apart use a pencil eraser to clean the button contacts.

Some buttons dont work

very easy fix. got to auto parts store and get permatex rear window defroster repair kit. next remove battery cover and batteries and pry open remote. once open take out the rubber sheet and clean the backside of connectors. open the kit and find the small bottle of conductive paint and brush a small dab on all the contact let dry a few minute and reassemble. Just like that better than new.

Xbox controller will not sync with console

Disconnect the power cord from the 360 for a couple of minutes.

Plug it back in and turn it on. Power turn on a different controller than the one that isn't working and sync it with the 360.

Now turn on the original controller that wouldn't sync, and use the sync buttons on the 360 and controller. It should sync up and go to player 2 slot.

Everything should be good now, that's how I fixed mine.
