Question about Infinity Kappa 10.7t 1'' M.M.D. Dome Tweeters Car Speaker
I've installed a 2 way speaker system in my car and now it's time to hook up the amp. The woofers are CDT mid range subwoofers and the tweeters are Infinity Kappa 10.7's. The tweeters come with what appears to be an in line bass blocking capacitor. I have some 2 way passive crossovers from MB Quart. And my Amp has an electronic crossover with a high pass and low pass filter on each channel.
My question is, can I simply use the electronic crossover in my amp with out using the passive ones....
You should be able to remove the passive in-line crossover, but since it is blocking everything below 3500 hz, there is no need. leaving the passive crossover in place will also help protect the tweeters if something fails in your setup as any amped frequency below 3500 can seriously damage them.
