Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My dad bought a Fliud 4000 LED TV a few days ago and is not happy with St. Paul Alberta Source service as the sound/volume dropped off dramitically and is garbled.

What could possibly be wrong as the picture is fine and my father is 83 so getting a bunch of verbage at the store on source inputs, outputs and set up functions on the remote is useless as is the ownwer, manager or front line worker in this midsize town.

The best solution is take it back, if they do not want it back then have them solve the problem. He can always stop payment but he should notify the vendor and let him know what he is doing. If it was payed for with a credit card that company can be a big help.

SOURCE: Changing program source without remote

Do a web search for a replacement remote control. If you got the tv without a remote, then I'm guessing you don't have a manual either. Here's a link to a free downloadable manual.

My father has a Dynex LCD TV, Model DX-37L130A11 Rev A, sticker says 10H07-Rev A. Manufactured August 2010, Lot #: 205204 XHT 100453. A few days ago he said the audio started emitting a loud, cracking...

It sounds like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting, which I applaud you for doing. Have you tried power cycling the TV? Simply turn off the TV, unplug it (and any components connected to it), then plug it back in and turn it on after a minute. See if this corrects the issue. If it doesn't, then I would recommend calling our Product Support team to schedule repairs at:
U.S., Canada, & Puerto Rico - 1-800-305-2204
Mexico - 1-888-882-7326
daily from 7 am - 12 am CT.

Clearly, it thinks you're overdriving it.

Blinking Power Indicator every 2 seconds means the internal temperature is high. (Page 76 of the manual)

Every half-second - speaker impedance too low.

Consider the load presented by the speakers and what their minimum impedance might be.

Check for loose speaker wires.

TV is not working

If it's 3 weeks old bring it back if you can. There should be at least a 30 day warranty. When the channel and volume buttons on the TV don't work it sounds like something failed.

Sound and Volume trouble

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.

it says to replace the control box for no sound.
thats the main board to you.
I would use external speakers as they sound better anyway.
