Question about Vacuums
I assume it is Electrolux Epic vacuum.
Check this site out: http://www.greatvacs.com/education/electrolux-models.html
It will show a few epic models.
(There may be a tag somewhere on the vacuum as well.)

SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 8000
YES,JUST TAKE OFF THE HEPA FILTER.
IF I MAY SUGGEST,IF YOU WANT TO BUY AN AREUS/ELECTROLUX YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT THEIR "BOTTOM OF THE LINE" MACHINE, THE "CLASSIC" IT'S HALF THE PRICE AND A MUCH BETTER DESIGN THEN THE NEW "FLAGSHIP" MODEL, WHICH IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN ANY PAST ELECTROLUX. IT'S BULKY,AWKWARD TO USE. EVEN IF YOUR BUYING FROM ANOTHER SOURCE, GO INTO AN AERUS DEALER AND GIVE THEM A TEST DRIVE.
I CLEAN APARTMENTS FOR A LIVING AND AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH ALL ELECTROLUX MODELS.

Vacuum either has a clog or full bag that is overheating the vacuum causing the thermal switch to shut it down.
Hope this helps.
