Very carefully. Get a manual for your machine because you don't want oil in places where it can be transferred to material or thread. Go online to the manufacturers website and see if there is a free download. If not try ebay.

I have a Necchi 535FA sewing machine that will not catch either the thread, just leaves a stright line of thread not catched

try changing the needle
also try rethreading the machine top and bobbin
make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case
if the suggestions don't help then it's possible that the machine
needs to be checked for a timing problem

My wife has a 910 Babylock Surger and I'd like to clean and oil it, where do I put a drop of machine oil?

Remove the covers as far as you are able to and oil every point where two or more pieces move against each other. It's frankly better to over-oil a sewing machine than to let it starve for lubrication.

If you're using the machine a lot you should oil it daily. If you're not using it that much you should oil it each time you use it. Tri-flow brand oil is very good stuff, if a little spendy- a firearms shop should have it. Any 10W30 synthetic motor oil will also be excellent, if nothing else 3in1 oil is good.

How to oil Spartan 327k sewing machine

Use only sewing machine oil. Get an oiler with a long spout so you can reach far places, put a single drop of oil on every place that has metal moving on metal.
