If anyone you know is mechanically inclined, they can open the machine using a screwdriver. follow the path the water takes in the tubes and find out where the water is being blocked. You'll know what to do to fix the machine when you find the problem. Pay special attention to the trigger mechanism as that seems to be a weak point on many floor scrubbers. If you have a digital camera, you can take photographs of your progress and refer to them for correct reassembly of the machine.

Mine won't work too. I opened the bottom and found lots of boiling water residual around the outlet. That is why no steam come out. Even if I cleaned it, steam becomed very little, 10% of original. I would say Dirt Devil steam mop is just gabbage product. I do not recomment anyone to pay $50 to buy no more than one or twice usage!

The problem with the DD steam mop is not getting steam out but trying to get it to keep coming out. If U disassemble the plastic housing around the handle U will see a small part connected to 2 hoses, one going to the water reservoir the other going to the heating unit. This is the pump which provides water to the heating unit, and if this fails U won't get steam. U can try disassembling this and try to get the piston to move more freely. A loud clicking sound coming from this should indicate good movement and a feeble click click click may indicate restricted movement.

Hard water deposits. I ran some white vinegar through mine, like a coffee maker, and it worked for a while, but clogged again. So I unplugged it, let it cool and turned it over in the bathtub and squirted a small amount of Lime-Away into the hole where the steam comes out. Let it soak for 5- 10 minutes and it is working like is is brand new.

Try rinsing it out with CLR, it gets rid of calcium, lime and rust deposits i heard its very good.
