Phasor addition on classpad 330

Open up keyboard, go to 'cat' tab and scroll down to get ' <( ' symbol.

Input the magnitude followed by angle separated by a comma (E.g. <(15,10) ). The first element in the bracket is the magnitude of the phasor while the second element is the angle.

To do phasor addition simply add more of the '<(' symbol. (E.g. <(15,10) + <(12,5) is the addition of phasor_1 with magnitude 15 and angle 10 and phasor_2 with magnitude 12 and angle 5 ).

Note: the symbol ' <( ' appears at the very bottom of the list and the '<' symbol is actually more flat in appearance like how a normal phasor is usually represented.

I want to remove the word fix from the top of the calculator

You've got the display set to fixed decimal notation. To change it, press SHIFT MODE 7 to switch to a scientific notation or SHIFT MODE 8 and then 1 or 2 to switch to one of the norm display modes.

norm1 switches to scientific notation if the magnitude of the number is less than 0.01 .
norm2 switches to scientific notation if the magnitude of the number is less than 0.000000001 .

Why is .0015^1095 =0?

The calculator is a finite machine. .0015^1095 is actually about ten to the negative 3091. The magnitude of this number is much too small to be represented in the calculator, which can only handle exponents with up to three digits. Thus the calculator rounds the result to the nearest representable number, which is zero.

Is there an easy way to use vector mode to find the magnitude of a vector? I know you can just take the square root of the sum of the component squares, but it would be nice to have a shortcut.

If you're dealing with complex numbers, simply switch the view to polar coordinates. The length of the vector is the magnitude of the number. SHIFT MODE down-arrow 3 allows you to select between polar and rectangular coordinates.

The parts to repair a problem of this magnitude are generally not available. The DCC-2000 has a thre-year warranty. I would call Cuisinart and see if you can get an in-warranty replacement. I have a high opinion of cuisinart and their products, but this particular coffeemaker, I do not personally reccomend.
