If we block calls from a number then do we receive text msgs from the blocked number?

It depends on the phone. SOme phones allows total blocking of contacts while others only block calls. You may have to test this with a friend to see what level of blocking your phone supports. If it is a smarphone, you may need an app that allows blocking if your phone does not do it the way you wish

There are 2 ways to block numbers:
1. Go to Menu. Settings. Call. Call services. Call barring settings.
There you can block outgoing or incoming call groups using your provider's network settings.

2. Press menu, and then tap All friends.
In the Friends list, press and hold the friend's name you want to block.
Tap Block friend. Your friend is removed from your friends list and is added to the blocked friends list.

Unwanted calls from this number

Hello amcoi.... you can not stop unwanted calls without a court order but you can enter an unwanted call into your contact list and then assign that number a ring tone of "no ringtone". What this means is that your phone will not ring when it is called from that phone number but it will show up as a missed call. Joe

Would like to block a number from calling

If you are in the USA ... there is no reasonable way for you to block incoming calls, short of court order, unless you can pursuade your service provider to do so ... Once the person you want to ignore finds out your have effectively blocked that number, he or she will just call from a different telephone.

What you can do is enter that number in your contacts list and under the profile, you can turn the ringer off and just ignore the "missed call" notice. Alternatively, you may be able to change your telephone number if you can convince your service provider that there is ample reason to do so.

Since you probably pay for air time to get voice messages, you might want to manage your voice mail on line. Best thing is to put in your greeting that you do not return calls from this number or just turn the voice mail off. Your friends will know how else to contact you if there is no answer.

I want to block a particular number from calling my K800i. Can you help me?

hi friend,
    Prevent Telemarketing Calls
  1. With more people switching to using their cell phones as their primary phone number, it has become easier than ever for your phone number to make its way onto the call lists of telemarketers. You can block these calls by registering your number with the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call list at Registrations need only be made once and will not expire. Telemarketers are required to update their lists by removing new numbers from the Do Not Call list, but it may take up to a month before the companies hassling you do so; after this month has passed, complaints can be filed with the Federal Communications Commission at
  2. Block Calls with Your Handset
  3. Many mobile phones have the capability to block unwanted calls directly within their settings. Typically, such calls are either dropped entirely or are automatically routed to voice mail. You may also have the option of setting individual numbers to neither ring nor vibrate your phone, in which case you'll still receive the call, but since your phone will not alert you, there is no danger of it interrupting you. Check your phone's manual for details about whether your phone has this capability; alternately, the discussions at Howard Forums are an excellent resource for every make and model of cell phone.
  4. Contact Your Cell Provider
  5. Some companies offer call blocking as a centralized network service. Usually, there will be options either to create a list of blocked numbers or to prevent all calls except those from a list of pre-approved numbers. This option may not be as attractive as the others, as your provider may charge a monthly fee for this service, or it may make updating your lists more difficult. However, a distinction is made for calls that are deemed to be harassment or stalking; such calls should be blocked by your carrier at no charge.
  6. Use an Intermediary Service
  7. Finally, another option is to use a secondary incoming call number, such as the one provided by Google Voice. Intermediary services such as this one give you a new number and allow you to directly control the circumstances under which each contact's calls are forwarded to your phone. For example, you can set up Google Voice so that only your known contacts call your cell phone, and only at particular hours; other calls may go to your home phone, or straight to voicemail.
step 1
Call your cell phone carrier. Dial 611 from your cell phone to reach customer service and tell your provider that you would like to request line block. The representative from your carrier may ask you a few questions, but the process is quick and painless.
  • Step 2 Dial *82 if you need to unblock your number. Once you have put line block on your phone, you can temporarily take it off by dialing *82 before dialing out.
  • Step 3 Block a specific call. If you do not want to put line block on your cell phone permanently, you can block your number temporarily on a call-by-call basis.
  • Step 4 Dial *67 before dialing out to just block that particular call. After entering *67, proceed to dial the rest of the number as usual.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • If you use temporary blocking, you should dial your own home phone number, if you have caller ID, to test to see if the block is working.
    • Do not block your number just to commit prank calls, fraud or crime.
    hope this helps u

Does anyone know how can I block calls or messages from specific numbers?

I would just like to know how I can block a particular number through my 6060. Please don't tell me divert the calls; that's not the solution. T

here are just a few numbers from a couple of people that I don't ever want to receive any messages or calls from. My other friend's seem to able to block numbers on their more recent Nokia phones. Don't tell me the 6060 is too old fashioned to be able to do that?

    'no number' missed calls

yes i have the same phone and repair tonnes too.

clear the numbers on the phone, not the sim. now restart the phone switch off take battery out and push the red power button. now replace the battery and switch on. copy all the sim numbers onto the phones memory and backup the numbers onto a computer (a mobile phone store will do this for $25 (ish) )

now clear the sims numbers. so now all your numbers are on the phone only. this will solve the incorrect numbers which the phone reads off the sim incorrectly.

also good idea to clear the calls incoming, outgoing, missed, received.. by deleting them, as the D500 sometimes gets these confused as they are stored in the same place and under the same file headings.

this should fix the problem. also it a good idea, if the phone or sim is old...   is to get a new sim.. just get the number and so on to be transfered across.

or.... (please backup pics, vids, numbers everything!!!) try:

    good luck.
