If the drum goes around, your motor is working.
If the drum doesn't go around, the belt could be off or broken, or the motor could be bad.
Try to listen for the motor starting up as you turn the dryer on. If it sounds like it is running (an initial 'bump' followed by a quiet hum), chances are it is a belt problem.
If you can't hear the motor running, or it is a loud buzz, or there is the smell of burning insulation or smoke, chances are your motor is bad.
It is also possible that the selector switch that controls everything is not turning the motor on (bad selector) or the overheat safety switch is malfunctioning, but these need to be tested by taking the dryer apart.

My Brada dryer won't turn on again for about 30min after only drying one load.

SOUNDS LIKE COULD BE A BAD MOTOR WINDINGS PROBLEM? If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings

Whirlpool Duet Dryer, Drum doesn't turn

repairs should be performed by an authorized repair person. check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing. unplug the dryer and locate the thermal fuse and perform a continuity check. more than likely it is open, replace it.

I have an armana electric dryer that turns on fine but stopped getting hot. It is 110vac. I tested all the limit switches and thermal fuses and they all have 120 vac thru them when dryer is running. I ran...

Does your volt meter have a buzzer on it that will make noise if it does set it to that with the dryer unplugged and retest the heater and thermostats if it buzzs its good if it doesn't there is your problem and the dryer has 220 volts coming to it 110 for the motor and 110 for the heater but hope this helps and good luck. if everything test good and nothing it could be a bad timer where one of the points is bad or the switch in the motor that goes to the heater is bad and all you can do with that is replace the motor.

Whirlpool crosley dryer cbe227v, the dryer will not start, you can here it hum but it wont actually start.

If the dryer won't start then it is the thermal fuse that is bad, you can test it with a voltmeter before replacing. This fuse is located inside the rear panel and it cannot be reset. If the fuse tests fine then it is the motor that has gone bad as the hum sound comes from the motor & you will have to replace it to solve this issue.
Hope this will help....

Electric dryer cuts off when it gets hot

I assume you mean it completely shuts off. If the motor switch or belt switch were bad the dryer wouldn't start at all. the 2 thermal fuse are not resettable so they cannot correct themselves either. sounds like the motor overheating, this could be due to poor airflow.
usually caused by a poor vent system (non metallic or many elbows), or a bad motor. If motor squeals after 10 or 15 minutes (or less) it is likely bad. occasionally an old lint filter becomes clogged if you use dryer sheets, pour water on it and see if it holds in the filter. if so it should be replaced. you could scrub it in hot soapy water as a temporary fix or test.
