Question about Sova Televison & Video
This TV was given to me over a year ago. So far the picture is fine. I have no manual or working remote for this TV. My friend wants to try plugging in her own speakers, but I don't think both of the original speakers would have gone out at the same time. Would they?
Is it possible to change the audio format in the Uverse box?
Can you try a mp3 file from USB stick or movie from youtube (Smarttv) on the television and check for sound?
Then you know that sound amplifier in the television is ok.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

We have the same problem with our 32" Aquos. Turn on the TV and after a couple seconds the picture goes out but still have audio. So this solution doesn't permanently fix the problem, but it works instantly to get the picture back. With the TV turned off, tap the side of the set twice with the palm of your hand. Turn the TV back on, and VOILA, you have a picture. I know the last thing you think to do is to hit your TV to fix it, but that is often how my husband tries to fix things...this time it worked!!

This is a common problem on these plasma TV's. The problem resides inthe high voltage boards known as the X and Y Sustain boards.. You canpurchase them here for a very reasonable price:
The above link is to a Y-SUS board. The X-Sus board is often the 2nd cause of failure and can be found here:
Totest which board is failing, you need to check voltage input to theYSUS board first... Input should be 120V from Power supply, outputshould be above 250V.. Do this test with XSUS disconnected. IF 250+Vexists, then XSUS is damaged. If not, then the YSUS is the faulty part.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
Please post back what you find.
