Hi We have a canon camcorder

Hi We have a canon camcorder 100 E 2YRS old. Suddenly won't turn on when we move mode switch to "on" position. Hasn't had obvious bumps or been dropped. Was working fine while on holiday at snow. Wondering if cold or moisture a problem? Cheers Darren
