Depending on make and model, replacement may be hard to get, but first, need to know what brand and model number it is.

How do I put the bobbin case back in to the shuttle holder, mine keeps falling out?

Put bobbin in holder. Thread properly. Pull out arm on bobbin which holds spool in place and gives u a handle. Place into position. Turn slightly so it fits into appropriate slot. Let go of arm. That's it. Good luck.

Bobbin wont lock into place

Hello Lisa, There is a lever on the bobbin case that is spring loaded that secures the bobbin case to the shuttle or rotary hook, whichever you have. If you have the bobbin case in the correct position and the bobbin case pushes completely onto the stem of the shuttle but does not latch onto the stem to hold it in place, you may need a new bobbin case.

Should the machine have some oil? Where? It is a Bernina Activa 130

The Activa range is fitted with a light-weight part-plastic hook/shuttle that Bernina claims does not require oiling. However, this does not mean it shouldn't be regularly cleaned and I'd recommend that it is also lightly oiled at the same time. Remove the bobbin case, press the metal lever to the top left of the bobbin door and the black plastic hook/shuttle retainer should pop open so that the hook/shuttle can be removed, or it will just drop out anyway. Use a cotton bud to firmly clean around the inside edge of the hook race (the round piece that the hook/shuttle sits in. Give the whole thing a good clean to make sure any surface grime/fluff is removed. Put a small drop of oil on the running surface of the hook race - the recessed groove around the inside edge, before replacing the hook/shuttle and holding in place by pressing the hook/shuttle retainer back until the securing lever clicks back into place. Rotate the handwheel once to distribute the oil and off you go. Dont overoil but do this regularly and your machine will run much quieter and produce a consistent stitch formation.

I took out the bobbin case and then the shuttle race. Now I can't remember which one I should put back in first.

Clean the shuttle area, the hook and the cover with a toothbrush, removing all lint and debris. Place one small drop of sewing machine oil on the rim of the hook. Place the hook back in the raceway and replace the cover. Snap the two retaining levers back to hold the cover in place.

The bobbin will not move, the black thing that holds the bobbin will not move. How do I fix

Refer to page 49 of your manual.

Turn off the power.

Remove the face place.

Raise the needle to it's highest position and the bobbin case can be removed.

Clean the area from lint and any thread that may be causing the jam.

Replace the bobbin case back into the shuttle.

If you do not have a manual, you can download one for your machine at the Singer Company website.

The black positioning plate came off and i cannot put it in place.

I looked through the manual - if you need one, you can download one here - http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

I do not see a black positioning plate unless you are referring to the hook arms that holds the shuttle in place,

Make sure the needle is in it's highest position when cleaning and replacing the parts of the bobbin shuttle.

Bobbin thread won't engage.

The bobbin case is not in the shuttle.

Raise the needle to it's highest position.

Lift the lever on the back of the bobbin case and hold it open as you insert the case into the shuttle; arm on the case pointing up. You may have to turn a bit to the left or right - it will click when in place.

Bobbin and shuttle case pop out of machine .

You might need to clean the shuttle assembly.

1. Raise the needle bar to its highest position and remove the bobbin case.

2. Push levers sideways of the shuttle assembly and liftshuttle and shuttle race cove out by the center pin.

3. Clean the shuttle race of any lint or small particles of thread with a small brush.

4. Put a drop of oil on the center pin of the shuttle and on the shuttle race.

to reassemble, hold sjuttle by center pin and it carefull into assembly opposit the shuttle driver. Slip shuttle race cover into place. Snap the levers into position.

Occasionally remove the needle plate and clean feed dog with soft brush.

I hope that helps!

I have a siplicity sewing machine and after taking the bobbin out to clean it I cannot get the bobbin holder to go back intot the machine

I had a similar problem and Rick on this site was kind enough to give me some advice. Lay the machine on its side so you can just place the bobbin mechanism pieces into the bobbin shuttle area. Put the small half moon shaped piece in first, then lay the round piece in with the little notch at the bottom. Loosen the screws that hold the arms that hold the bobbin shuttle in and position them over the small 'bumps' on the bobbin housing. Once you have the arms in position, tighten till firm (not enough to strip the screws) and then set the machine upright and insert the bobbin case with thread.

I really hope I've helped you like Rick did for me.
