The thermostat, timer or the heating element itself are the places to check. Look at the circuit breaker for the dryer in the power panel. It will be two breakers connected together. If one trips but not both, the heating element will not heat but the dryer will run.

SOURCE: my admiral dryer model AED4475TQ belt came off and the pulley is laying lose I need a diagram to fix it please help

Hopefully this helps! My drawing isn't great or good for that matter. The washer has a place to insert the pulley in front of the motor. Put the belt around the drum. Then push the pulley back away from the drum and insert the belt in between the forks and then wrap it around the pulley of the motor. I really hope this helps.

Admiral dryer won't heat. Fuses have continuity. Does run though. Heating element has continuity as well. Have both legs of power going in.

Check the high limit switches next to the drum and element. they are around the size of a quarter dollar, about one and a half inches. check continuity.

Why isn't it drying?

Do you feel hot steamy air exiting the outdoor vent when machine is running? You should feel a pretty good blast coming out of there. If not, and the dryer is hot inside, you may find the fan is slipping on it's shaft and turning way too slow. Access the fan and hold the pulley that drives it and see if you can turn the fan without the pulley and shaft turning. The fan is made to slip under high torque, but often the clutch clamp lets it slip too easy.

Won't dry but heats up and tumbles

Check the pipe where it comes out of the back for a blockage. Take it off completely. Also check the inside of the pipe and the vents where the steam exits your home. Sometimes birds nest in them or they just fill with fluff.

You can do a quick check by running the dryer with no pipe attached. Open the windows when you do it.

Elements will fail when they overheat due to blockages and lack or airflow.

Going from a 3 prong to a 4 prong dryer plug

Admiral AED4475TQ is an electric dryer? Was your old dryer gas? If so, you need a 220 line installed to run the electric dryer. Here is a link to instructions from ehow http://www.ehow.com/how_5824435_wire-220-plug.html.
