SOURCE: how do i link my free yahoo email account to MS Outlook 7?

Hello,
To setup your Yahoo in MS Outlook 2007, please follow the procedures written below:
1. First of all, you must enable POP3 in your yahoo mail account. If your current yahoo setting for the preferred content is “Yahoo US”, it requires “yahoo mail plus”. But if you change the setting as “Yahoo Asia”, then you can enable POP3 access in your yahoo mail account. To do that:
- Sign in to your yahoo mail account. (I assumed that you switched the yahoo mail options to “All-New mail” view from “Mail Classic” view.)
- Click on your “Display Name” and select “Account Info”

- Continue signing in yahoo account info verifying your password.
- In your yahoo account info page find the “Account Settings” section.
In the “Account Settings” section, check the current settings for “Set Language, site, time zone” content. If it is “Yahoo! U.S.”, then click “Set Language, site, time zone” link.

- In the “Edit Member Information” page, click on the New Setting option and change your current preferred content settings to Yahoo! Asia and click “Finished” button.

- Click “I Accept” button on the “Terms of Service” screen to proceed further.
- The preferred content will be “Yahoo! Asia”. Click the “Finished” button to save the settings.
- In your yahoo mail box page, click on Options and select More Options…

How do I access my freeserve email account through outlook

Hi
I don't know which version of Outlook you have but you need to go to >Accounts>Settings. The settings you need are
Incoming server:- pop.orangehome.co.uk and your logon details for this are your freeserve username which is the full email address and the password you used when setting up the account or subsequently changed to.
Outgoing server:- the settings here are exactly the same as for the email address given to you by your ISP, as outgoing mail always has to go through the ISP.
You don't have to access your email through Outlook. If you go here:
You re logging into services on orange co uk
and enter your freeserve username and password you can use the address as webmail.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Default Mail Client

Have you ever had Outlook configured correctly to access your email server and download messages?
It sounds like you have set outlook as the default email client but you have not yet configured the email account settings within outlook so that outlook knows how to connect to your mail server online.
Please refer to this link or this link for instructions on how to do this.
Check the programs tab of Internet Options in control panel and make sure Outlook appears as the default email client.

If you follow the instructions in this tutorial you should be able to enter your administrative account and ensure that the Office Diagnostics program runs with sufficient privileges...I believe that will correct this error message...
If not, If you have correctly configured your email accounts within outlook and outlook is set as the default, please see this posting and the recommended change to correct the situation.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
