SOURCE: KENMORE GAS STOVE OVEN LOWER BURNER WON'T WORK

bad oven ignitor is the most common cause of bake failure, located onthe side of hte burner bar itself, if youd like with a multi-meter, you can check the wires leading to the ignitor for 110v. if you have power and nothing was glowing from ignitor theres your problem

I believe the oven it has a power surge protector within the appliance. Try to unplug it and plug it back in. It should solve the problem.

SOURCE: GE Profile Electric Stove - Buttons for oven don't work

We had a bunch of storms roll through the area and we figured a surge must have fried our control panel. We decided to buy a new oven rather than spend $200 fixing this one. Luckily, our local Sears rep wasn't in it just for the commission and suggested we flip the circuit breaker off for 10 minutes to allow the range to reset itself. Works good as new! So, try this first before you make a decision. Good luck!

Bought a prima superchef oven, when I plug it in the electricity trip switch cuts off the power.

or a wire is touching the casing. If it is new, call the retailer. If it is secondhand call an appliance technician.

If it is a UK or Australian cooker, and the wires a fixed into terminals behind a cover on the wall, you have it wired wrong.

Big volts and amps can kill.

Oven wont come on

Check if plates work. Assuming it is a stove. If they don't then supply turned off or main fuse tripped/melted. If they work, and oven has upper and lower element, turn on each individually. If one works and the other does not, then the cold element is probably open circuit. If neither works, then the oven fuse tripped/melted. It can be that the oven switch is faulty, especially if the oven is old, but that would be the exception, not the norm. If this procedure does not help then you need a multimeter to do some measurements - not for the regular person. If it is just an oven on it's own, check supply or fuse. Further you would need to do some measurements with a meter!

Check the thermal coupler a copper thermometer for your stove after checking all the fuses in stove and circuit breaker box of house to see if any have tripped. Circuit Breakers should have the switches all in a line. Any not in the lie will be tripped. Fuses in your stove are usually in the top part of the stove where the instruments are and fuses screw out and visually are easy to detect if they are blown or not. Remember all ways Unplug what you are working on to prevent shock

I've a stoves efa600h electric oven and grill, and it's stopped working! It will switch on, and start up even as normal, but then after not very long (not long enough to cook oven chips) it's as if all...

There seems to be an overload switch in the stove and that is tripping out and resetting after the 10 minute interval. You need to find out if the overload switch is faulty and tripping out at a lower load, which is the more likely scenario, or if the stove is really overloading the switch. A snap amp meter around one of the cables will give you the stove current draw. Probab;y easier than doing that will be to replace the switch and see if that fixes the problem.

My ge stove is dead. control panel is out, burners and oven will not turn on

The circuit breaker probably tripped. Usually it will be a 2 pole 40 or 50 amp breaker. Turn it all the way OFF, then back ON. Sometimes it's not easy to visually tell if a breaker has tripped, so do it anyway. If that doen't solve the problem post back please.

sounds like that element is getting a "hot spot",high resistance area, will oven operate w/o that element in place?you also could have a bare wire touching the oven case somewhere, if it trips w/o having anything turned on remove back cover and examine all wires and connections

Gas stove works, but oven does not

you most likely have a bad oven ignitor...if you see an orange glow under the oven panel that is your ignitor trying to come on....but if it is weak it will not open the gas valve.....acess the ignitor and replace it
