Is it a zero turn if it is there is a fuse that runs the pto

It does matter if it is a ZTR or a regulator rider some have a fused PTO circuit and others don't. Just worked on a JD737 ZTR PTO that was pulling over 16 amps when it should have been only drawing 6 amps; no fuse in the circuit. All ZTRs and regulator riders all have at least a main fuse but if it is blown then not even the starter circuit will work. This is why I always ask for the equipment info in order to look the electrical diagrams.

SOURCE: Battery isnt getting charged by

40b7c2b.jpgTry to always list the model number. Something like 917289472 would be the model number. Here is a wiring diagram for that model. Note the test voltages with unit running. Check the wiring from the regulator to the ignition switch and from the switch to the battery. It is possible for the ignition switch to be bad and keep it from charging. Test at these terminals with voltage tester. You should have more than 12 V at the regulator( diagram says 9-16 volts). If you need the manual you can go to www.searspartsdirect.com and download diagram. Enter YOUR model number. Good luck!

SOURCE: Husqvarna Mdl YTH2448 Riding Mower - Electric PTO Not Working

It sounds like your charge system is not working. If you jump the battery the engine will run with a weak battery but the pto clutch needs a strong battery to stay engaged.Try this to test it,after you jump it leav the jumper cables hooked up and try to engage the blade clutch,if it runs it is either a battery that wont take a charge or a charge system not working. If you put a volt meter on the battery while the engine is running and the voltage is 13 volts the charge system is working and the battery is bad.

SOURCE: Craftsman 26hp Garden Tractor PTO not working

If you changed the belt make sure it did not interfere with the wire that runs from the pto clutch, sometimes that belt can rub on the wire and wear through it,also if you had the clutch off make sure you aligned the steel retainer bolt that sets in the alignment hole on the pto clutch, this keeps the clutch from spring when disengaged if you don't get that pin through the hole in clutch it can push on the clutch and bind it.Also it may be possible to plug that pto switch in backwards. Also if you jumped the fuse out it may now have burnt the switch or wiring somewhere.

Do you have a volt meter or a 12 volt test light?..if you do you can see where you are losing your voltage at..but i would suspect the PTO switch is bad..i hope this has helped.....Keith

Toro 11-32 won't start.new battery. i jump the terminals it fires right up. 2nd problem is the deck won't engage I hit the switch and nothing I leave the seat it shuts off when engaged

Check and see if the Engagement termnal on the solenoid is getting power. If it is replace the solenoid.

As for the PTO check for at its connector for voltage. If voltage is there check for about 1.7 ohms resistance across pto coil. If it reads infinity or less than 1.5 ohms replace the pto clutch assembly.

If the pto reads less than 1.5 and there is no voltage at the connector than the pto switch is probably burned up due the shorted pto.

Check for wires that are broken, or shorting to the body of machine. Do you have a fuse in this line, if so possibly the fuse is blown. Were the switches you used new or in good condition? Only you know what your looking at. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Most of these mowers have a safety switch between the PTO switch and clutch. A safety switch or relay is most likely the problem. Hope this will help ya.

Pto clutch keeps shutting off

If you have not replaced the pto switch do so. If you have check wiring from switch to the pto coil. Many times the wiring at the pto coil is rubbed by the belt until it wears the wire into. You can also try energizing the coil to the pto directly from battery (With engine off of course) If it energizes and stays energized it is probably not the coil.
