Question about Sony Cybershot DSC H10 Digital Camera Compact Travel Case

Open Question

Normally use the right side of the circle button on the back of the camera to change flash setting (on, off, auto, etc). It stopped working even on auto and manual settings. Only the right side button does not work.

The flashing green dot is telling you that your settings aren't right for the conditions. You have to bring in the settings within range. As long as the dot flashes, nothing is set right. Put camera on auto mode. Then take a photo. look at what the camera set the f stop, iso, etc. That will help you learn to set manual settings in the right direction. I have a 30 d and it will do same thing if setting in the manual settings are not right.

One of the buttons on the back has a lightning bolt icon. In picture taking mode, press the button and watch the screen....it will cycle through auto flash, red-eye flash, flash off, etc.

How can I turn off auto flash in my canon sd 600 camera?

Press the flash button (right-arrow on the control panel, marked with a lightning bolt) repeatedly to cycle through the flash settings. To turn the flash off, select Off, marked by a lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it.

Don't forget to turn it back on when you're done.

How can I turn off the flash on my Canon PowerShot SD600?

Press the Flash button to cycle through the various modes. The Flash button is marked with a lightning bolt, and is on the right side of the multiselector. Your choices are Auto, Auto Red Eye Reduction, Red Eye Reduction On, On, Off, and Slow Synchro. Off is marked with a lightning bolt inside a circle with a slash through it.

The flash will not work. I think something needs to be reset but not sure how to do that.

On the Navigaton direction button on the back of the camera the "Right direction" button has a little lightning bolt sign.

Repeatedly press this button while the camera is in picture taking mode to go through the flash settings sequence. (Watch the display while pressing this button)
Settings:
1 No Flash, Lightning bolt circled with slash across it.
2 Auto Flash, Lightning bolt with an "A" beside it.
3 Auto RedEye remover, includes an "eye" symbol.
4 Flash Always On, Lightning bolt alone.
5 Unknown, I don't know what the S mode is, I haven't used that one before (something to do with ISO virtual film speed setting).

Have fun.
Hope this was helpfull.308b6a1.jpg

Can't turn the flash off

Hi The product you have given has Built-in flash with Auto, Forced on, Red-eye on, and forced off (Red-eye reduction On or Off).
There is a 1 1/8" diameter lens with a built-in lens cover that automatically opens and closes when the on/off button is pressed. Above the lens is the viewfinder window, flash and tiny (almost unnoticeable) microphone. There is also a small circle that has three functions: the autofocus assist beam, red-eye reduction lamp, self-timer lamp. A wrist strap comes with the camera and attaches through a slot on the front of the camera near the side.
To the right of those buttons is the four-way controller, used for menu navigation as well as:
  • Up - Metering (Evaluative, center-weighted, spot)
  • Down - Drive (Single-shot, continuous, self-timer)
  • Left - Focus (Auto, macro, infinity)
  • Right - Flash (Auto w/redeye reduction, auto, flash on w/redeye reduction, flash on, flash off)
