Whirlpool built-in single oven AKZ451/IX/01

Our oven is not reaching the correct temperature, in fact it will only go up to 150 degrees F. Could this be a thermostat, if so where can I buy one or is it likey to be something else

Changed the heating element. Quite an easy job. Problem fixed.

Re: Whirlpool built-in single oven AKZ451/IX/01

Bake element open not heating or the sensor is off. You copuld also have only 110 volts from a bad breaker sor shorted wire on the 220 side. It may be one of the fuses out if you have fuses as this will only turn on the Broil elemnet at half voltage 110.
Normal operation is bake elelment at 220 vlots and bake element at 110 volts. In preheat some elements are both on till temp reached and if the bake element is open (shorted out) the broil element stays on and never shuts oof until the temp is reached which it never will if the bake element is bad.

If this is an older oven, check to see if it has a control knob or switch labeled "manual and "hold". Make sure it's set for manual. The hold setting maintains temp at about 140 degrees.
If not the case, is this gas or electric?

My whirlpool akz451/01ix stopped working just dispays f3 can i reset it

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F3 error means open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a Whirlpool AKZ451 built in oven that is not reaching temperature. The oven element appears to be working, could this problem be the oven temp sensor?

yes, or the oven control itself, make sure also to closely inspect the element itself for any "HOT-SPOTS" where its getting a high resistance area and not passing all the current needed to heat the element
