I am using my pressure cooker for the second time. It is not getting up to pressure and it is making a whistling sound. What is the problem

Remove the lid and make sure the gasket is in the right place. Then place the lid on again, and make sure the pressure valve is set to closed.

Here are the Wolfgang Puck manuals, if you're lacking one. Also on that website a great place to ask any basic pressure cooking questions.

I was told to cool the pressure cooker under cold water but when I do that it starts to make a whistling sound which is actually quite alarming. Is that dangerous? Am I doing something wrong?

I know it sounds really bad but it's very normal for pressure cookers to whistle when you are cooling them down. Because you are reducing the pressure so quickly, it produces a vacuum and that's what you are hearing - don't' worry about it.

My vax vacuum has started making a high-pitched whining/whisting noise

Ususally this is caused by a forein object has gotten hung in the suction impeller attached to the motor. the noise flucuates due to the housing flexes with the movement of the handle and rod. the housings are usually made of plastic and something very small can easily get stuck in it and stay for a very long time. The vacuum needs disassembled and the forien object removed from the fan housing...
Hope this helps
Sincerely
Roger

No.1 part, the round whistle in the middle of the lid doesn't pop up when the cooker is on and pressure is building up instead the steam comes out of small pressure ball and it sprays everywhere.

Here are detailed instructions on how to use it. It sounds like the slide on the handle was not set to the locking position:

We have just bought a brand new 480cd gas rayburn boiler/cooker and it is making a very loud constant whistling noise. When the cooker part only is on there is no noise but just when boiler is going

This can be caused by several things. Incorrect Gas to Air mixture in the burner air intake valve. . Debris in the gas line to the boiler. To high a gas pressure. Depending on whether you installed this unit or not, will determine if you should try to repair or troubleshoot these issues. If it was professionally installed call the company that installed it. The only one you can't troubleshoot is the gas pressure. That needs to be done by a certified gas technician.

Hope this helps steer you in the right direction to solving the problem.
