Question about Ovens
Displayhas gone off and oven won't work until this is set can it be replaced
Had a similar problem over a year ago on my Rangemaster, neither of the ovens would come on, only the gas hob worked.
The cost of a new display unit was around £100 plus so decided to check out the unit by removing it (it was quite easy to do; but remember to isloate the cooker from the mains before you start dismantling).
On my display there were six wires plugged into it. I marked each one and the display before removing them so that they all went back to the correct location (i am not an electrician and am therefore an electrical numpty).
Firstly I degreased each male and female connector using an electrical spray degreaser/cleaner and then cleaned them using very fine emery paper and a special pen with glassfibre bristles until they gleamed and then gave them a final spray to remove any debrie left by the cleaning process.
Before i put everything back i also cleaned all the connectors to the switches etc which were accessable in a similar manner; about another eight/ten in total.
Following reassembly and switching the power back everything started working again. All this work took about an hour and my cooker has been working fine for the last 12 months.

F9 is a door lock error and to solve this issue you can hold
the light switch for 15 seconds, this will reset the control. If it won't work
then hold the light switch in and set the unit to clean and after a minute
press cancel to cancel the clean cycle. If still it won't work then the door
lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post
back for further assistance.
