Since you can't test the center tip of the power cord, your cord could be defective. You can try a different power cord from any detector with the same type plug.

hi

if you are not getting power to your mb then you have to try a different power cord to eliminate if the power cord is faulty

then you will need to consider the motherboard ac jack the power cord plugs into too

that will need to be tested and replaced if faulty

My ps2 slim is plugged in but the power light is not on

Try plugging the unit in, in another room... and directly to the wall... if you get a light on there then your socket my be bad or your power strip. also try unplugging the power cord from the adapter and testing with a meter ... you should get 115v (AC) if not then your cord is bad... if you do then try plugging it back up to the power brick and test the barrel for DC voltage...
if you didn't get a reading on the adapter then replace you power brick

My display screen is rolling and nothing stops it. My computer says the printer is offline.

Try doing this procedure to correct the problem.

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips.
3. Select a wall outlet to plug the product into. Test the wall outlet by plugging another electric appliance, such as a lamp, into the wall outlet and turning it on. Unplug the test appliance.
4. Plug the power cord into the back of the product.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Press the Power button to turn the product on.
7.Now check if its already working.

Power problem. not sure if it is the cord or the plug.

You need to use a voltmeter to test the cord and plug.

Often cords break at flexure points. Plugs can be replaced.

You sometimes can get the culprit to show itself by pushing the cord together at points that seem weak or soft.

the fused9G.F.C.I.) cord you speak of is probably the G.F.C.I. built onto these units by design, can you or someone you know get access inside the unit and :Hot-Wire" the units cord and, bypass the power cord ( Just To Test the Unit)and see if it stays operational then replace bad unit cord if this is it.

Dell latitude d600 doesn't turn on

The test Dell advises to narrow down this issue is to remove the battery, hard drive, ram, and optical drive.  Next plug in the a/c power cord and you should get some LED's coming on. If not it points to the motherboard.

make sure the green wire is connected like in the picture. this connects directly to the neutral, if it is disconnected when you connect a 3 wire cord then this problem you are having will happen.

It sounds to me like the power cord has a short. To test your power cord you need a multimeter. Test continuity threw the power cord, from the male plug prongs, to the wiring inside the vacuum. You should get continuity from one prong on the male plug to only one wire on the other end of the power cord. If you test one prong but get a readying on 2 wires, then it is crossed. If you dont get any continuity on one or more of the wires, you have a short. A common place for a short in the cord is the male plug, you can find a replacement male plug at a hardware store and cut off the old one. When wiring the male plug, black wire goes to the gold post, white wire goes to silver, and green wire goes to the green post.

If your carbon brushes on the motor are warn, then that could cause the motor to stop, but other parts of the vacuum should still work so I dont think it is that.

Hope this helps.
