To remove drum/fan drive motor:

• Remove rear panel & rear air duct. Remove belt from belttensioner. Remove top panel & drum if needed for better access.
• Disconnect terminal connector from motor, then remove two screws from motor mount & one screw holding fan to front shield. Lift rear of motor mount up and slide entire assembly toward rear of dryer.
• While holding motor shaft, not rotor fins, remove fan blade from motor shaft. Remove three screws, then remove fan housing from motor.
• Remove spring clamps by pushing ends of them down and away from motor. Lift motor up from motor mount.

SOURCE: maytag performa dryer quit working

Check your breaker first and then the wiring. Check power coming from the timer next. With a load and resistance that you had, you could have tripped one of the breakers.Since you have bypassed the thermal fuse, it probably is the timer switch.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

SOURCE: kenmore 100.85081400 no heat

check the thermal fuse on the blower housing if its open some units wont heat, also check the heating element if heated electrically,or the ignitor on gas fired units,by the number you provided i believe you meant its a 110.85081400 instead of the 100.85081400 (and is electrically heated) you provided which is produced by whirlpool for sears (kenmore) also there is a control board located inside behind the control panel that may be a culprit, but check the first two things i suggested at the top

Usually! There may be other problems too - rodents LOVE to chew up wires! The squirrel cage is on the passenger side, and it is a labor intensive job. depending on your finances, it may be faster - and easier - to let a shop have the headaches!!

Fuse out on kenmore electric dryer 90 series

The fuse on most Kenmore series dryers is located on the blower housing where the squirrel cage is that blows the air out of the back of the dryer.

How do I clean a Hawaiian Breeze tower fan?

Unplug fan. Lay the fan face down. Remove the four screws holding the stand to the base. Slide the stand all the way off the cord. Look at bottom of fan and find the small half circle indent just to left of center. There is a screw there, remove it. Go to the hand grip at the top of the back and pry out the two white rubber plugs to reveal two more screws, remove them. Back cover can now slide downward. May take a little squeezing at the center of the grille where internal clip is. Remove two screws at top of squirrel cage. Turn squirrel cage and loosen screw at bottom collar on motor shaft. Tilt the top of the squirrel cage outward slightly and slide upward to remove the squirrel cage. You can slip upper metal bracket off and set aside. Motor is held in by two screws, remove them and flip motor out of the way. There are two screws below where motor sat that hold in base of front grille, remove. Front grille has a series of clips along edges, carefully pry them inward from bottom to top and push grille gently outwards. You can now clean the rear grille, front grille and squirrel cage in warm soapy water and allow to dry. While they are drying, use a vacuum and dust rags to clean interior. When parts are dry, reinstall front grille and reinstall 2 screws. Reinstall motor with two screws. Turn motor shaft so flat notch is pointing up. Recommend to spray a tiny bit of WD-40 or a tiny dab of moly grease on shaft at top of squirrel cage, then replace upper bearing bracket on top shaft. Slide collar end of squirrel cage onto motor shaft and align screw with shaft flat and tighten. Reinstall two screws at bracket at top of squirrel cage. Align back cover just a bit toward bottom, then slide upward and clips will snap into place. Reinstall two screws in hand hold area, then reinstall screw at bottom of cover at half circle notch. You'll need either a magnetic tip screwdriver or a pair of long needle-nosed pliers to get screw in hole before tightening. Feed cord back through base and reinstall 4 screws. It took me about half an hour to do this whole process on each of my two Hawaiian Breeze fans, but they now look brand new and run very quiet.

I want to clean the squirl cage fan on my Carrier handler. It's 12 years old and never really been cleaned. What is the best cleaning procedure to maximize its efficiency.

The best way to really clean the squirrel cage is to remove the entire indoor blower motor housing assembly out of the furnace then remove the squirrel cage from the motor shaft and pressure wash the squirrel cage. Make sure you don't use to much water pressure as you might knock off any balancing weights that may be attached to the one or more of the vanes. Make sure the cage is completely dry before you re-install it back on the motor shaft.

The squirl cage on the dryer of my model LSE7806

Howdy,

Absolutely should be positively "locked" to the motor shaft. There should be a set screw in the collar of the squirrel cage mount. Either it is missing of has loosened. Please tighten (or replace) this set screw. Also, it is very IMPORTANT to make sure that if there is a flat machined surface on the motor shaft, that you align the squirrel cage (and set screw) so that the set screw will seat firmly and squarely against this flat surface. This design ensures that once properly aligned and set, that the squirrel cage will follow the motor shaft faithfully. Also, it is recommmended to apply some thread sealant (Locktite) to the threads of the set screw so this will not happen in the future. Vibration can be the cause of this.

Good luck,

J

Dryer ccontrol wiring issues

The growling vibration is due to the squirrel cage being out of balance, the wiring issue is due to having no lint trap causing lint to build in the bottom of the dryer and catch fire taking the wiring insulation with it, have seen it many times.
If you repair it make sure you get a new lint filter for it..

Bosch 500 series dryer stuck on pause mode

things I would try:

remove the power from the dryer and let sit for a while. Plug back in when you feel it is time.

If that does not reset, I would take the cover of the board to see if the button is not stuck. (remove the top 1st, the the cover of the control board will come out)
