Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

I have a brother pr600ii. In the middle of stitching a pattern it stopped and showed "main motor lock". I closed the screen and it said "inappropriate needle stop". I closed that out and the needle position went back to normal. Everytime I try to start it repeats this problem. I took off all the covers, cleared out all built up thread and oiled the machine at all the oiling points. I'm still having the same problem. Any suggestions???

There could be something wrong with the motor or the motherboard, which means it would have to be checked

SOURCE: Janome Memory Craft 9500 Troubleshooting

The solution that I found last night was the thread tension. I have never touched the dial, only had it set on 'auto." When I started playing with it, I realized the top thread should be really easy to pull through the machine and it wasn't. I started turning the dial (to 3 or 4) and the thread slid through the machine perfectly. No more birds nest! I really thought it was bobbin initially because of the horrible sound it was making.

SOURCE: Inapproipiate needle stop position THEN Main Motor Lock comes on

The BELT was OFF. I guess it did that during shipment to me. So my husband just put it back on. THAT SIMPLE. It just kept making a motor trying to run sound and my husband took the left top cover off and seen it was only the belt. I was SO excited. It saved me a service call.

SOURCE: janome straight stitch loose

I don't know if this is the right answer for any of you, but thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in. Often this can be the bobbin in backwards. It needs to unwind a certain way depending on the machine. I've heard a phrase for this: Mind your p's and q's which means some wind off to the right like a q, others to the left like a p. Mine has to unwind one way then be slipped backwards into a little slot or it does that loose bottom thread looping and bunching someone here mentioned. It seems everytime I get that problem I rethread the top thread 100 times before it clicks again and I remember it could be the bobbin thread. Either your manual will tell you the correct way, or you could experiment and try one or the other. Once you figure out whether you're a p or a q, mark it on your machien somewhere to remind yourself.

Good Luck and Happy Sewing!

Brother embroidery machine has started shifting design outline between first colour and others, about 1/2 inch can't back up to correct starting point, doesn't respond.

Did it do this on more than one pattern? Has it stitched this pattern before correctly ? You can try turning the machine off and back on and let it reset. If it is only doing it with this pattern and it's the first time you have stitched it , try again after turning the machine off and back on. If it's not doing it to other patterns and you bought the pattern contact who you bought it from as there is a flaw in the design. Have them check and resend it. I have a converter program so if you get it in a different format you can change it to your format. Sometimes it is designed on a different machine and did not convert well. When I have this problem I download it in .hus and convert it for brother. There are several free preview programs that show you the design and stitch order and let you save it to different formats. If this isn't the problem I would call brother USA +1-877-276-8437

Need instructions for Mccalls pattern 7101 for bows can you help

Try contacting the pattern company. Otherwise, you will most likely need to purchase a duplicate pattern to get the instructions.

It looks like you may fold the fabric (wrong-sides together) on the center line, stitch the raw edges together but leave about a 3-4" gap unstitched (somewhere around the middle), then turn the fabric right side out through the gap, push out the points on the corners, hand-stitch the gap closed, then press.

How to get brother pr600 out of main motor test mode?

Looks like the machine is bound up, or the motor is failing. If the hand wheel is easy to turn then it is probably the motor drawing too much current.
Brother recommends a new motor and belt every 1500 hours of run time.

From the Brother web site I find, " If you are receiving a "Main motor current" error message indicates there is a problem with the unit, and it is recommended that you get the machine serviced.
Take your machine to the nearest Authorized Brother Service Center for repair.
You can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area by clicking on the link below.
