Question about Computers & Internet
The issue started while trying to downgrade from win8 to win7 after changing some setting in the bois ( disabled OS boot manager ) as CD/DVD was not there in the booting order. the laptop started to restart on its own, just keep getting ( Press F2 for setup or F4 for recovery ) none of them are working. even F10 is not recognizable anymore. any assistance is highly appercaited. Thanks
In the BIOS, re enable the Boot Manager.

Testimonial: "I'd like to do that very much only if I'm able to enter the Bios at all. It seems that you didn't get my question .. How to reset the bois on the mother board ?!?"
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Notebook will not boot
If I understand what your problem is...
I had the same problem, it was a caused by bad Windows XP install CD.
Call Gateway and explain the situation, you may need to have a magnifying glass handy to read the tiny engraved lettering in the center of the CD disk.
Have your 'Product Key' available.
If you have some kind of sales receipt, or other "Proof of Purchase" have it handy too.
You will need to tell them, you do not have the program installed on other computers.
They can send you another disk.
This method will only work if you have a legal copy of the program.

I received an IBM laptop with same issue a few months back. The error message due to the drained out CMOS RTC (coin-cell battery), which retains and other BIOS settings.
The system is OK and all you have to do is to get the CMOS/RTC battery replaced by the a professional.

Only obtain the BIOS update from
the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer, unless the computer
manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer is no longer in business.
Do not shut off or reboot the
computer until the BIOS instructs you to do so.
Verify that the BIOS you have
been instructed to use or the one that you are downloading will resolve the
issue you are attempting to fix. Remember that BIOS updates will only fix
hardware issues and will not fix software issues, unless that software is
directly related to the hardware.
Verify the BIOS version and make
sure that the BIOS update you plan on using is the next version. For example,
if your BIOS is 1.0a, and the manufacturer has 1.0b, 1.0c, 1.0d, etc. You
should be updating to 1.0b. If you need 1.0d, update to 1.0b, 1.0c and then
1.0d unless otherwise instructed by your computer or motherboard manufacturer.
Verify that the computer has
been scanned for viruses, viruses that may reside in the write-able portion of
the BIOS may cause the BIOS to abort or fail, possibly causing the computer to
encounter additional issues.
If you are updating a laptop or
portable computers BIOS ensure that it has AC power and is not running off the
Finally, when upgrading a BIOS,
it is important that your read the disclaimer and any other information or
instructions included with the download. Many computer manufactures will not
support a BIOS if done by the user of the computer without the instructions of
a technician or company representative. If the BIOS causes any difficulty with
the computer you may be held responsible.
How do I download a BIOS update without a working computer?
If you are unable to get to the Internet in order to download a BIOS update
we suggest downloading and creating a BIOS diskette on a different computer.
For example, a friends computer or a computer at your work.
Where can I find the BIOS version for the motherboard I
