How do I connect my turntable to my HTR-6230 receiver

It always helps when a connection question is asked that you identify all parts of the scenario explicitly.

Depends on whether or not the turntable has an internal PHONO preamp. If it does you can connect it to ANY analog input. Otherwise, you need to get a PHONO Preamp to place between the TT and the HTR.

"PHONO" is the only designated connection on an audio device that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify and frequency-correct the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge. Look up RIAA equalization.

I recently bought this turntable used. I am trying to connect it to a Sony receiver with a phono input, but no sound comes out when connected. Does this turntable require a pre-amp or something?

If the unspecified Sony has a "PHONO" input you should be good to go. What model?

If your unit doesn't have a PHONO connection AND your TT doesn't have a self-contained preamp you will have to get a Phono Preamp to connect between the TT and any Line Level input, like Aux.

SONY PS-LX56P turntable sounding very quiet when attached to a mini Sony hifi, even though our other turnable sounds fine on it.

Not knowing the electronics I'd imagine a close listen would reveal it's actually tinny as well as quiet. You probably need a Phono Preamp (Google it).

I have just fitted a Technics SL BD20 Turntable to my new Panasonic SA-AKX50 system. I can't get much volume out of it when playing a record on the turntable. I have a black wire coming out of the back...

Does your NEW Panasonic SA-AKX50 have an input label "PHONO"? If not, it can't PRE-amplify and RIAA-equalize the tiny voltage signal produced by the phono cartridge.

"PHONO" is the only designated connection on an audio device that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge.

I have a T62 Stanton and I want to play it like a normal turntable. I conected it in the Behringer mixer using L/R cable. I cannot hear the bass sounds with my headphones. What is happening?

Is it connected to a "PHONO" input or something not labeled explicitly for PHONO?

How do i connect technics turntable model SL-QD33 to technics stereo model SC-DV290 and what do i need to switch to on stereo to play records.

Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.

NO SOUND WITH EVERYTHING PLUG IN .

I assume that you're talking about the output from the 2 RCA Phono Jacks? Does this turntable output a "Line Level" signal, or a standard millivolt level 'turntable signal'? If it is an older 'standard turntable', then you need to run it into an amplifier that has a "PHONO" input and ground wire. This will amplify the tiny signal to a 'line level' signal that you can record or run to a computer, etc. If you do not have an older amplifier with "PHONO" input jacks, then you need to buy a separate stand-alone 'phono amp/preamp' that will boost your (tiny 10mv) turntable cartridge levels high enough (.5 to 1 volt) to record on another device. Let me know if that is the case. Good luck.

Why wont my turntable work? it works when hooked up to other receivers. i get nothing

Most new receivers don't have an input for PHONO. If yours doesn't you will need a phono preamp between your turntable and your receiver. Cost about $30.
